- Dana's POV -

What is she doing here? What on God's green earth is she doing here? I hadn't seen this girl in over a year now but standing face to face with her, it felt like it was just yesterday that I'd traveled all the way to Canada to win Justin back, only to be greeted by her presence. I could feel my stomach gradually dropping every minute I stood here.

Her chocolate eyes stared into mine, a small smirk on her glossed mouth. Her thin arms were crossed over her chest, as she shifted her weight to one side.

Over her shoulder, I could see Justin standing against the frame of the kitchen door with a worried look on his face.

He knew.

I could tell he knew. Just by the way he had his hands stuffed in his pockets, how his foot was tapping nervously against the floor and the way he chewed on his bottom lip.

I couldn't believe he didn't tell me his ex-girlfriend was coming to the party. I also couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed right now. I thought I was only going to have to face Justin's parents, but apparently I was getting more than I bargained for.

"Dana," Justin started as he proceeded to walk toward me. "Give me a moment to explain --"

"There's nothing to explain," Irene said as she let out a giggle. "I was invited by Justin's mom." She turned her attention towards me.

With furrowed eyebrows I responded, "You were?"

"Yeah," Irene shrugged. With a roll off her eyes she uttered, "I didn't come here to steal your man if that's what you think. I don't want him. Never did."

"Okay," Justin said as he passed by her and stood by my side. "I know you're trying to make the situation better...but there's no need to lie. You and I both know very well that you--"

"Alright Justin," Irene cut in. "Whatever. There's no need to make the situation worse."

"Touche." He mumbled.

I looked between both of them and couldn't help but feel extremely awkward about this all. I also didn't understand why Justin's mom would want to invite one of his ex's to his house knowing he was in a new relationship.

"So is this cool," Justin pointed between the both of us. "Are you guys cool about this?"

Irene answered, "Yeah," the same time I answered, "I don't know."

Justin looked over at me with a frown on his face.

So I sighed, "I'm going to be honest Justin. It feels a little weird that your ex-girlfriend is going to be staying here for the whole week. Excuse me, did I say a little? I meant extremely."

"Ex girlfriend?" They both spoke in unison. A small laugh coming from both of them immediately after.

"Babe, Irene is not my ex-girlfriend." Justin placed an arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his side.

"She's not?" I asked confusingly.

"No," Justin chuckled after kissing my head. "I wasn't lying that time I told you we were just friends."

"Just friends," Irene smiled.

It felt like so much weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was still a little on edge about this girl. I mean, how could I not be when the only thing I could think about when I saw her was that picture she sent me? Maybe she wasn't Justin's ex, but she was a little psycho. I think that's fair to say.

Irene sauntered over to Justin and I, placed her hands on my shoulders and practically ripped me from his grasp. "See," she smiled as her eyes locked with mine. "You have absolutely nothing to worry about."
