It had been a little over a month since Karuizawa, and Eric could not have been any more irritating. I didn't think either one of us could deny the tension as we talked on the phone. We may have agreed to forgive each other, but we hadn't forgotten what was said, and I could barely care about it. I never thought we would grow apart so much, but it had happened, and we didn't know what to do. Could we even fix it? It didn't seem like it... and I wasn't sure I wanted to.

Still, while I was willing to do just about anything to get my mind off of things, what Tamaki wanted to do was not ideal. He had managed to drag me out of the house during the late morning without much explanation until after we picked up the twins, Honey, and Mori, who all seemed to know what was going on. Kyoya hadn't been answering his phone, so we had to go tell him about the event in person.

What I hadn't realized was that Kyoya wasn't a morning person. Not as bad as Honey, who could probably scare an army when getting woken up, but enough that I was regretting my decision to come along. We were all gathered near his bed, and Tamaki held up a flyer and said, "Hey, Kyoya, I just had the most brilliant idea! There's a vending market at the Izumi Shopping Center today! Doesn't that sound fascinating? Commoners hold events like these all the time. They're called expos. That's commoner lingo for exposition." I wondered if he knew that wasn't uncommon for aristocracy, too. "Products from all over are gathered under one roof so that underprivileged people can cope with the emptiness of not being able to travel. If that makes the perfect opportunity for us to better understand Haruhi by allowing the Host Club to study commoners in their natural environment, you guessed it, Kyoya, we're going to go on a field trip! Haruhi won't be joining us today incidentally, as her presence might harm our credibility as impartial observers."

I frowned, "It's probably better that she doesn't with how you're talking about 'commoners'." Kyoya, who had been either sleeping or ignoring us the entire time, finally turned to glare at Tamaki. The twins, Honey, and my brother jumped on Kyoya and tried to wake him up while they had their chance as Mori and I watched.

"Oh, come on. You can't just lie here in bed all morning. Today is the last day of summer vacation!" Tamaki encouraged. Kyoya slowly sat up, and I could almost see the anger emanating from him.

I whispered to Mori, "I don't think this is going to turn out well." He nodded in agreement. The others moved back towards us, shaking in fear.

"For your information, I was up until 5 a.m., you morons, which, if you hadn't noticed, makes me a little less than happy about being woken up," Kyoya growled.

"Kyo-chan isn't much of a morning person, huh?" Honey said.

"You have no room to talk," Mori told him.

"Hey, what does that mean?"

"Nobody likes to be woken up, you just happen to dislike it a bit more," I smiled nervously. I didn't want to make him upset or anything, and seeing Kyoya right at that moment, Honey definitely looked like an angel when he was woken.

Kyoya glared at us, "Okay, enough with the commoner shtick. If you formulaic halfwits feel like wasting all afternoon on worn-out, old clichés, go right ahead and suit yourselves." He immediately fell right back asleep on his pillow.
