Chris

I turned away from the person and closed my eyes, feeling my body slowly become human again.
"Chris? Is that you?" The person asked from behind me and I bit my lip in worry. Why did it have to be him, of all people?
"Uh...I don't know what you're talking about." I said lamely and heard the person snort.
"Chris, stop playing. I know it's you, bro." Finally, I turned around to face him. Trey Songz looked back at me, completely confused.
"Look, I'm sorry. I just needed bl -" I stopped mid sentence as I remembered that he didn't know what I was. No one did.
"Huh?" He looked even more confused than before and I didn't blame him.
"Please forgive me for what I'm about to do." I said as I felt myself become stronger. His jaw dropped as my eyes turned red and I pushed his head into a wall. Instantly, he became unconscious. I just hoped he wouldn't remember any of this. I covered him roughly with my jacket and gave him one last guilty look before turning away from him.
Walking out of the alleyway, I became human again and started to think about my stylist. I couldn't believe that someone had murdered him! But I wasn't stupid. Maybe the killer needed information from him and he hadn't been able to provide it. And, most likely, the information was about me.
My blood would've run cold if I'd had any. Someone was trying to kill me, and they had seemed to be pretty successful in their killings so far. I shuddered and tried to put it out of my mind, but it was near impossible. Even though I was a vampire, I was still completely vulnerable as a human. All the killer would need to do was catch me off guard and I'd be dead in an instant.
I had heard tales of vampires who had, even as humans, had the immense strength and speed that I revelled in whenever I changed. They had only lived off human blood, as it was said to give them more strength, and had even tried to gain more power by killing others of their kind. I had met other vampires in the past, but they instantly ranked me below them as I refused (most of the time) to kill humans.
Now, that didn't mean that I had a clean slate. I had killed a lot when I was first turned, but it had been because I had let the other side of myself take over. Years had passed, and I had learnt to control it, mostly. Although it had taken over a little when I had nearly killed Trey, but it was nearing the full moon and I was becoming dangerous.
I bit my lip as I thought of Trey, unconscious in the alleyway. Hopefully I had hit his head hard enough to make him forget about what he'd seen, or at least think it was a dream. People would start to notice him laying in the alley soon though, so I had to get out of there.
As I walked through the door of my house, I remembered my undying thirst. The back of my mouth burned like never before and my head started to throb. I fell to my knees, snarling, and clutched my head. If I didn't feed now, the pain would become unbearable.
Involuntarily, I felt my fangs slide out and I narrowed my eyes, looking ahead. Something was moving in front of me, something alive. I growled at it, unable to think in a rational way, and was on top of it in an instant. Animal blood washed down my throat as I drank and whatever I was drinking from started to struggle less. Just a little more -
I broke away sharply as a familiar scent hit me. Looking down at the animal in horror, I started to back away. My eyes widened as I became human and I scooped the poor thing up in my arms.
Dirty Diana. I had bitten my dog.

Less than a minute later, I was in my car on the way to the vet. Dirty Diana was wrapped in a towel, whimpering softly. Blood was still oozing from her neck and I bit my lip guiltily. I was still in shock from what I'd done, and I couldn't believe that I had become that out of control. Never in my entire life had I ever come close to hurting one of my pets, so why now? Even though the moon was approaching, it had never caused me to do something like that.
My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as I sped towards the vet. I could've just run there in my other form with my super speed but I didn't trust myself enough at the moment. As it was, I could smell the blood coming from DD even as a human.
Finally, we reached the vet and I cradled the animal in my arms gently as I walked through the door, hearing the bell go off above me. The lady behind the receptionist desk looked up as I entered and her eyes widened as she saw the dog. I carefully placed DD on the desk and she instantly laid down, unable to stand. The receptionist was speechless.
"Hi. I need someone to see to my dog, Dirty Diana, please. It's an emergency." I said quite quickly and the receptionist started to frantically type into her computer. She gestured for us to go right through to a room on the left and I hastily picked up DD and walked into the room.
The vet saw the dog and her eyes became as round as saucers. I placed DD onto the examination table and the vet quickly grabbed some needles and a wad of bandages. I sat down sheepishly in a chair and waited nervously.
"How did this happen?" She asked and I looked up in surprise, not expecting her to ask me anything.
"Uh, an animal somehow got into our house and tried to attack Dirty Diana. I just managed to stop it before it was too late." Then, with slight hesitation, I spoke again. "It's not too late, is it?"
"No, but if you had gotten here any later, it would've been. The dog will have to stay here for a few nights while she recovers." I nodded and thanked the vet, leaving the room.
I started to think on the way home that maybe I should just cancel the competition for the fans to come to my house. What if I hurt them? I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I did. I pulled out my phone and started to type into Instagram when I heard a beep from in front of me. Just in time, I looked up and saw a car about to crash into me. My body started to change as I gripped the steering wheel harder and slammed on the brakes, but I knew that it was too late to avoid a collision.
     Crash.
