Time for a Sam one!

•••

"Goodnight, Sam," you yawned, kissing him as you laid down by his side.

"Night, [Y/N]." He pressed a kiss to your forehead, wrapping an arm around your waist to hold you close to him as he slept.

I found myself in a dark hallway, alone. [Y/N] wasn't by my side, Dean wasn't here either, nor was Cas.

"Hello?" I called, my voice echoing off the walls. "Hello? Anyone here?"

I started walking forward, and as soon as I did, a light flickered on above a door at the end of the hallway.

"Hello?"

I walked faster towards it, becoming confused and worried as I realized that the door was getting farther away. The faster I moved towards it, the farther away it moved.

I tripped, and the scene changed.

I was in a dark room, a single lightbulb flickering over an empty wooden chair.

"Anyone there?" I called out, hesitant to move towards the chair.

I took one step forward, and the light went out, causing me to step back quickly.

The light went back on, and someone was sitting in the chair.

[Y/N].

"[Y/N]? Babe?" I slowly moved towards her, afraid she'd disappear.

I crouched down in front of her small figure, gently placing my hand on her shoulder. "Babe?"

Her head snapped up, bleeding, bruised, and bloody.

"[Y/N]!" I gasped, moving my hand to cup her cheek.

"I wouldn't do that, Sam." The voice that fell from her lips wasn't her own.

It was cold, and raspy, and sounded as if multiple people were speaking at once.

"[Y/N]?"

She stood from the chair, forcing me backwards, and I watched, horrified, as her shirt began to get drenched in blood, her skin becoming pale and her usually warm [E/C] eyes were now cold and pale. She looked dead.

"You did this to me!" She screamed, walking towards me.

I kept backing away, shaking my head. "No! No!"

"You killed me, Sam Winchester! It's your fault I'm dead! I would still be alive if it weren't for you! I'd be so much happier if we never met!"

I stopped moving as she backed me up against a wall. I could feel myself trembling, my blood running cold. I feebly shook my head, lip quivering. "No, [Y/N]. No," my voice broke. "I was supposed to protect you - you were never supposed to die!"

"I'm dead because of you!" You growled, spindly fingers winding into the collar of my shirt.

"I'm sorry!" I sobbed. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry"

Your eyes snapped open, a squeak escaping your lips as you found yourself being tugged closer to Sam, his arms winding tightly around you.

A whimper fell from his lips, and a tear dribbled down his cheek. "I'm so sorry!"

You furrowed your eyebrows, managing to turn yourself around in his arms. You braced your hand on his shoulder, shaking him. "Sam! Sammy! Wake up!"

He gasped, his eyes flying open as he sat up, dragging you with him. "[Y/N]!" He sounded so scared, so broken.

"Sam! Sam, I'm here, I'm fine! What's wrong?!" He tugged you closer, gently holding your head to his chest with his hand as he rocked back and forth. His other arm wrapped around your back, his hand fisting your shirt.

"It was my fault," he cried, head buried in your shoulder.

"What was?" You asked him, gently, stroking one of your hands soothingly through his long, soft hair.

"I got you killed! It was my fault!"

You shushed him, using your other hand to rub soothing circles on his back. "Sam, it was just a dream. I'm not going anywhere. And you know it wasn't your fault. It'd never be your fault."

He shook his head. "It will be. It always will be. If I hadn't gotten you into this life, you wouldn't be in constant danger!"

You pulled back, cupping his face in your hands and staring deeply into his watery hazel eyes. "Samuel Winchester. I chose to come with you. I wouldn't have come if I was afraid. I'm with you because I love you. And right now, that's all that matters. You understand me?"

You swiped your thumbs gently under his eyes, wiping his tears away.

He nodded slowly, pulling you back into a tight hug. "I love you," he mumbled, face buried in your sweet-smelling hair.

"I love you more."

You both lied back down, Sam's arms wrapped tightly around you. And the rest of that night was a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
