The Hunt: Why Not?

(Y/N) POV: Oh my god, I was wayyyyy in over my head, I knew it from the start. The fact that Wendigos eat humans was bad enough, but I knew that if I got Josh mad, I would be on the menu. So I tried to take both of our minds off of it by hunting for deer. I had my emergency bow around me that I always had, like my sword. I didn't have room for a quiver of course so I had Josh carry it. He just looked like he wanted to hunt with his bare hands! Which, I didn't blame him because of how he was.
Josh's POV: A quiver?!?!? Why couldn't we just hunt with our bare hands? But I didn't blame (Y/N) because she wasn't like me. A savage! An ugly monster! She was beautiful! And I didn't know why she stayed and "took care" of me. But after a while of thinking we approached some deer that were about 30 meters away. We stood in the shadows and I handed (Y/N) an arrow. She pulled back slowly and stared for a second, then fired! It was so hard to see but I saw the flash and it hit the biggest buck in the head! And he collapsed while his friends ran away.
   I looked pleadingly at (Y/N) and she answered with, "You can kill only ONE more! And do it quick so he doesn't feel much. I feel bad enough." She said. So she was an animal lover! Kinda like Sam. *sighs* Don't think about it Josh! You effed up once, don't you dare do it again.
I tried to take my mind off it while I ran for a deer. They didn't run fast so it was easy to catch one. It squirmed around in my grasp but I bit it in the throat. I'll spare you the details so it's not as gruesome. I pretty much twisted its head off... Yeah.... There you go. Sorry! I felt like a douche the second I did it. But sometimes I can't control my Wendigo strength no matter how much it sucked.
   I ate the deer's insides in a few minutes, well, I guess I could resist human meat! But I guessed that it wouldn't be for long... Maybe (Y/N) really was in danger! I couldn't do any of that to her! But maybe, I realized, I wasn't the one that might hurt her. My eyes widened as I realized it was waayyy too quiet. The Makkapitew!
"(Y/N)!" I screamed as I ran back. But deep down in my heart I knew it was too late. I got back to where we were and found the bow, quiver, arrows, and (Y/N) katana on the ground! I picked everything up quickly, slung the bow, quiver, and katana on my back and ran to where I heard her screaming.
(Y/N) POV: I was making sure that the deer meat was good when I heard the high pitch Wendigo scream. Maybe it was Josh I lied to myself, trying not to panic. I knew deep down in my heart that it wasn't Josh.
I took out my katana and readied myself in front of the Makkapitew. But as quick as I thought I was, I wasn't quick enough to run and get Josh. The Makkapitew grabbed me and I dropped everything, my quiver and arrows, my bow, and my precious katana!
"Josh, help!!!!" I screamed. I heard him call back, "(Y/N)!!!!" But the Makkapitew was already running away with me in its grasp, me screaming and all!
Josh's POV: That Makkapitew was way faster than I thought, but I still had both of them in my enhanced Wendigo movement vision. But since I was still, surprisingly, part human, I didn't have to see them only when they were moving.
We ran for a while with (Y/N) screaming the whole way! But eventually, the Makkapitew took her to the mines. Damn! I've been trying to avoid them! Oh well, even though I just met (Y/N), I knew that I would do anything to keep her safe.
Deep down I knew that the reason why I wanted to keep her safe was because she was keeping me part human. But it was more than that, she was the only one that was willing to give me a chance! I narrowed my eyes and ran faster with my new found strength and speed! But I wasn't sure what to do next! How would I get her back? "All in good time Josh." I gave myself a weird peptalk. "(Y/N)!" I yelled out to her, "Do you trust me? I promise I'll keep you safe!"
(Y/N) POV: Trust him??? What the hell? What kind of question was that?!?! Of course I did! "Yes! Of course!" I yelled.
"Then I'm gonna throw you your sword!" He yelled back. My eyes widened as I realized his plan, and how crazy it was that it might just work! "Ok!" I yelled. "DO IT!"
He threw my katana at just the right angle. Any more or less juice to the throw I would've got impaled or the sword would be right out of my grasp! I caught it! "Good throw Josh!" I smiled, even though I knew I could die at any second!
I slashed at the beast's iron hard skin. It didn't seem to hurt him but it sure did make him annoyed as he stopped, not realizing what Josh was about to do! Josh caught up with us and grabbed the Makkapitew by the head and pulled him so hard that it dropped me! But unfortunately, Josh was now in the line of fire! And the Makkapitew was AN-GRY!
