Josh's POV: Just keep running! Put yourself at a distance where you can't hurt (Y/N)! I've hurt enough people in the past 5 days! My Wendigo instincts were getting stronger and stronger as I ran farther and farther. So much for keeping me human!
I kept running so far that I couldn't see. My leg, of course, protested the long run and it gave out. I collapsed in the cold snow.
"There! Now I can't hurt (Y/N)!" I said to myself. But the wind was roaring so loud that I couldn't hear myself. But I did hear her call to me every so often. Eventually, (Y/N) came into view.
"Dammit (Y/N)! Why can't you take a hint?" I asked, avoiding eye contact.
"Because I DON'T take hints!" She yelled back. "I find my own way!" She was right of course! She had something with her, a blanket? Yeah! A blanket made out of deer skin! She must've done it last night in her restlessness or something.
"Here, take this!" She handed me the blanket. "It'll keep you warm!" She yelled over the wind. She saw my confusion and confirmed. "I keep it with me in my backpack." She yelled to me.
"Oh ok." I said. I really didn't have anything else is to say. The blanket was really warm as I wasn't before hand. (Y/N) on the other hand, had winter clothes on! But she was still shivering. I wanted to offer her the blanket but I knew she probably didn't want anything to do with me! I, of course, didn't blame her.
(Y/N) POV: I was freezing! But Josh looked warmer I guess. I wanted to share the blanket and he looked like he wanted to share it with me but I was afraid. I was afraid that he would bite me again! I had taken my pack with me, so I got out some emergency wrap for my arm. I wrapped my arm after I put on some antibiotics.
I knew that Wendigo bites didn't make you one, but it still hurt like hell! I realized that I hadn't said anything for a while but Josh was the one that talked next.
"Are you sure that you don't want to share this with me? You're gonna get frostbite!" He yelled over the cold wind.
"Actually..." I said slowly.
"What?" Josh yelled over the wind. I didn't hear him.
"What?" I yelled back.
"No, I SAID what!!!" He yelled back. "I just asked what did you say!"
"Oh! I understand!" I yelled back. "I just said, actually..."
"I knew it! You're freezing!" He yelled.
"Well duh! (pewdiepieminx XD) Of course I'm cold!" I yelled. "It's like -30 out here! But I don't remember the way we came from because the snow is covering our trail! I think we have to stay until it blows over!" I yelled.
"Well then you better get warm!" He yelled back. He spread his arm out so there was room for me in that soft... Cozy... deerskin blanket! I was still afraid, Of course!
He must've seen my hesitation, because he replied,
"I'm sorry! I really don't remember doing that! Please don't be afraid! I really DON'T want to hurt you!" He yelled. I knew he was telling the truth, so I sat new to him in the cold snow. He wrapped the blanket around me and I felt instantly better! I actually kinda liked this situation...
"Thank you!" I said to him smiling.
"No prob." He said smiling back. And then I understood it! My mother always told me that everything happens for a reason! Maybe Josh biting me was SUPPOSED to happen! So we could get closer! I began to realize that the cold was keeping our hearts warm since we were together. This reaction felt pure and so... True!
I snuggled up next to him slowly and put my head on his shoulder. I didn't realize how tired I was until I fell asleep on Joshua Washington, the one who was keeping me warm!
Josh's POV: "Goodnight (Y/N)." I said quietly as I kissed her on the forehead. The cold kept US warm!
