"Done!" I yell at the stop line on my sixth lap. Lawrence and Daya are already sitting by the gate, I laugh and grab my water from Daya.

"Lazy bums. How many laps did you both actually do," I smile drinking my water.

"Five," Lawrence says.

'Three," Daya claps for herself.

"I guess that's good for y'all. It's a big track." I nod. They stand up and we begin to walk and then we see Daya's mom car.

"Hey mom," Daya say leaning in the window.

"Hey y'all wanna ride back home. I gotta run to Target first though," Ms. Daniels says.

"No thanks Ms. Daniel, I'll walk home. Good exercise," I wave at her.

"Yeah. I can walk home. Thanks though," Lawrence says as Daya gets in the car.

"I'll see y'all later," Daya waves as her mother drives off.

"Why do I feel like you're about to bully me," I laugh. Lawrence smiles.

"I'm not that mean. I'll bully you later though," He says. I drink some more of my water.

"If Daya leaves in June she only has today and tomorrow with us. Then she's gone." I pout. Lawrence laughs.

"Aww, look at Maria all cute and pouty faced," He tease, I laugh.

"I'm not five Lawrence," I punch his arm.

"Of course, I know that," He says.

"Mhmm. Perv," I joke.

"You've got alot of jokes Salvatino," He nudges my arm.

"Hey you've known me for how long? You should be used to me." I shrug

"I guess. Daya use to tell me everything y'all did when y'all first became friends." He said. I chuckle.

"Yeah I couldn't stand you for the longest and then after I could deal with you. I began to tease Daya and say y'all were together. Even though y'all made it clear y'all would never date," I said smiling.

"Yeah she's like my sister. I couldn't feel or think about her romantically. That's be gross," He says laughing but serious.

"Yeah. You guys are so weird. Cute at times though," I roll my eyes.

"At times? You know you think I'm sexy all day, every day," He says, I laugh.

"Tuh, whatever," I shrug, he nudge me.

"It's okay, you're pretty beautiful yourself. See I admit things," He smiles, I nudge him.

'Thank you and good for you. Though. I have nothing to admit," I say.

"So you think I'm ugly" He smiles, I laugh.

"Seems like you want me to say yes. But even if I did think you we're ugly. It wouldn't matter because tons if other girls think you're the complete and utterly opposite," I say.

"Same thing for you with boys. Although you already know I agree with them." He laughs. I shake my head and tap his arm.

"You're not so bad yourself. Now stop with the compliments." I say.

"Go on, say it," Lawrence says, I groan.

"I agree with some not all things some girls say about your looks. There I said it," I say wind blowing my hair covering my face. Lawrence stops walking and moves the hair out of my face.

"Thanks," I say folding my arms across my chest.

"No problem," Lawrence says moving to the side of me again and we continue to walk. Unsure of why that simple gesture made me giddy and nervous, we walked in a peaceful silence. My phone dings. I check my text messages.

"Yeah Daya leaves in two days. How will my life go on without the sweet, snarky, sarcastic and funny ways of Zendaya," I ask dramatically wiping away fake tears. Lawrence laughs.

"FaceTime, phone calls, text and maybe a little visit down to Florida," He shrugs.

"Miami, she'll be in Miami, Florida," I say.

"Wow, that's gonna be on trip. Okay change of plans. I'll get some tissues, chocolate, movies and every fat food for you and I'll be your new best-friend for the summer," He says, I laugh.

"Whoa. That's pretty cool. Except one, why do you know all that and two am I not good enough to be a best-friend without the summer time frame," I ask jokingly, Lawrence smiles.

"One Daya and two I figured you'd want that place only for the one and only Zendaya," He says.

"Hey, I can have two amazing best-friends a female and a male. You just gotta pass the test," I tease.

"Test," He asks. I smile and pat his cheek.

"You just have to a) be yourself, b) respect me, c) make me laugh and d) be a real friend, completely trustworthy. If you complete those small tasks, you'll be my best-friend and you will forever love me and be forever indebted to me," I joke at the end.

"Whoa, I have to rethink this over... Nah. I'm just playing, I'll apply in two days then," He says shaking my hand as we get to his house.

"See ya then, I guess," I wave and continue to walk.

"See you tomorrow. Not in two days," he says eyebrows creasing as I turn around and smile.

"Okay, see you tomorrow," I say, continuing to walk down the street to my house.
