Twenty Minutes Later
"Mare. Wake up," Lawrence says.
"Thanks for the ride Mr. Daniels," I wave goodbye. We walk to the back door. My phone starts to buzz. I cheek my messages as I unlock the door.
"Mama not here. Can't believe she went out to eat without me," I say turning the alarm off, Lawrence close the door and lock it. I turn around to face him.
"Don't you want to go home or call your parents," I ask, he shakes his head.
"They already know I'm here. Told them my plans to earlier," He says, I nod and take my jacket off. I take my pony tail down letting my hair fall on my shoulders. I sigh and tousle my hair. Lawrence takes his shoes off and pick me up throwing me over his shoulder I giggle.
"Put me down," I yell.
"Nope. We're going to spend the night chillin till the roosters wake remember," He says.
"So we're going to eat the rest of our desserts, then drink some pop and get hyper," He says and I laugh.
"Yeah lets see if that works," I say as he pretends to drop me, I hit his back. He puts me down in the middle of the hallway and kiss me, my arms wrap around his neck, he picks me up, I wrap my legs around his waist. After five minutes I pull away foreheads still touching.
"Whoa there. I gotta breathe," I laugh before we go back at it again and the odd sensation is in my body just like the first time. We both pull away, he walks us to the living room, we sit on the couch, I get off his lip.
"I was accepted not denied," He says lowly.
"Trust me. I know. I don't know why that just happened back there," I say to him.
"Again," I add. He grins, I feel the heat rushing to my cheeks and I hide my face in his chest, my hair falling over my face.
"Wait a sec," I say lifting my head quickly, hair covering my right eye.
"I haven't heard from my brother all day," I say kind of annoyed, Lawrence laughs. I playfully hit his arm.
"Don't make fun of my brother and I relationship," I say smiling. I send Darren a text, he sends me back immediately.
Darren - Hey lil sis, I'll be home in about three hours. Spending time with Janell if you don't mind momma Mare. Nell said Hi as well. You cool?
Me - Tell her I said Hey, miss her. & okay see you then. I'm cool chilling w/ Lawrence.
Darren - Tell him I said Hey. Don't make me come home and be overly protective brother on you Mare, I know some boys out here trying to get you. Love you.
Me - lol Dare. Love you too. You don't have to worry about Ray he's just my best-friend. Now other guys idk. lol jpjp.
Darren - That's how it all begins little sis be careful. I know I treat you like you're actually my age, you're really mature but y'know I'm always here for you. See you.
Me - Thanks, talk more later? I know. See ya.
"He's a smooth ship to sail. Until it comes to boys and me. But it's nice," I say to Lawrence, he nods.
"Kind of like Daya with. . . almost every girl. . . Nope exactly every girl I've dated," Ray laughs, I nod at the memories and begin to laugh.
"What's so funny," He asks.
"So Day and I had a handful of girls that just. . . ugh. Your taste in females. It's gotten better though," I smile patting his shoulder, he grins.
