Benjamin P.O.V

I was only supposed to be visiting the Cullens. I was only supposed to deliver a message and maybe stay for a few days. I don't get to leave my quarters often but getting the chance to travel to the United States alone seemed to good to pass up. But I was only suppose to see the Cullens. So why am I running through the wet and crowded forest following a car that I've never seen before?

The girl driving it looked so inviting and intoxicating that I couldn't help but get distracted. I was trusted to deliver a message but it seems an obstacle has presented itself. A very welcoming obstacle I would like to add. She can't see me among the trees keeping up with her car but I wish she could. The look on her face seeing someone like me would be the most exciting prize the world had to offer.

Seeing her car slow down, I hide behind the first tree that grew across the paved street from a modest home with only one light in the window. This must be where she calls home. I would love to go in that tiny home with her though she would never invite me in.

The sound of the car door opening perked my ears as I watched anxiously waiting to get a better view of the person who managed to distract me without even realizing it. Her body exited the car as she swung her (yr/hc) hair out of her face. She froze for a moment causing me to do the same.

"Hello?" she called out looking into the darkness sensing someone had been watching her.

I desperately wanted to respond and reveal myself. Her blood smelled so sweet and strong screaming my name but I knew I couldn't.She wouldn't want me. She would run screaming when she saw my eyes or my swift movements. She would be repulsed but I would still want to be near her despite her wishes.

I managed to control myself as she seemed satisfied with the idea that no one had been watching her. There was no one appearing to be home so that meant she would be within those four walls all alone. My impulses rose again wanting to keep her company.

I watched as she disappeared behind the blue door and noticed different lights turning on signaling that someone was home. This was a small town and surely she was safe. I have a message to deliver and I can't forget that. I guess I can go deliver it and come back for the night and watch through her window. There's no harm in just watching right?

Reluctantly, I managed to move my feet from the hard ground and continued toward the direction of the Cullen home. I heard it was secluded away from prying  eyes and perfect for hunting without raising suspicion. It seems so perfect here...maybe I can convince the rest to move here as well.

The journey to the Cullen home had been so peaceful. The street wasn't crowded with people and not a sound could be heard besides my occasional step on a twig resting against the dirt floor. However, the glorious journey came to an end when the lights from the large windows came into view of the Cullen home. It truly was beautiful as Esme and Carlisle seemed to really outdo themselves.

"Benjamin!" I heard a friendly voice call out as it appeared they had already been waiting for me to arrive.

"Hello, Carlisle!" I called to him exiting the forest and taking a normal walking pace toward the well structured porch attached to the front of the home.

"I hope your trip went smoothly." he said extending his hand out for me to take.

"It was perfect. It couldn't have went better." I replied grabbing his hand and giving it a firm shake. It was my first time meeting this coven and hopefully the rest were just as inviting as Carlisle had been.

Another man came through the door ready to greet me. By the descriptions of the Cullens I was given this had to have been Edward who was known to be a mind reader. Hopefully he didn't catch me thinking of the human girl as I came closer to his home. But by the look on his face it was safe to assume he knew something of the experience I had just had.
