Reader P.O.V
Burning burning burning. The sensation of burning...no boiling in your blood made you scream out in agony. Your body wasn't physically awake but mentally you more alive than ever. Although, you felt helpless unable to move, hear, or see anything at all besides total darkness. This was a darkness unlike the kind you had experienced in your bedroom at night or even taking a late night stroll through the forest with your friends as a young teenage. This was different. More comparable to how death is described when nothing seems to exist anymore.
Small echos of your voice clearly in distress rang through the darkness while your mind desperately tried to ignore the fire coursing through your veins.
A thought suddenly forced itself front and center as you remembered hearing stories of people who had experienced death and had seen a bright warm light that felt so welcoming. Those people chose to run from that light but upon remembering that story you frantically tried to turn your eyes looking for sweet relief. You didn't care about your family, friends, or school that you were be leaving behind. You just wanted the nightmare to be over.
No light appeared just the continuing of suffering. You wanted to laugh at yourself for believing such stories considering the look of the people who would tell them on the news. They all looked crazy and managed to convince you in a moment of desperation that they were perfectly sane.
"(Y/n)...?" a soft voice called out almost hiding itself completely in your still present moans of pain. It wasn't until the unfamiliar voice called out your name again that you truly believed God himself had been calling and ready to take you to that place most people prayed existed.
Scanning your eyes, you continued to see nothing. Again no signs of a bright light or even a shadow letting you know there was body attached to that voice.
"Can you hear me?" the voice asked ringing like a chime blowing gently in the summer breeze.
You tried to answer the voice and let it know you ready here and ready to leave and enter the other side. But when you tried to answer, all you could hear were cries of agony. You stopped opening your mouth hoping these cries and whimpers were enough to let the voice know what you wanted.
"Everything's going to be okay." the voice urged on. "I promise."
A lone memory appeared as you remembered the blind date you had been on. You couldn't remember exactly how long ago that was but the thought managed to bring a small smile to your pained expression as it was the first time you were truly happy like how main characters were in a movie or book. Something that never seemed possible managed to find its way into your normally unlucky life.
"How is she?" a new voice asked sounding different. This time it was more like church bells on Christmas eve night with each word that was spoken.
This new voice, however, didn't seem to be speaking to you as the other voice quickly answered.
"She's doing well." the first voice breathed out sounding like a wave of relief washed over it. "Her face is healing nicely especially were the bite marks were. I was starting to think they would end up becoming permanent."
The next voice said something that wasn't clear. Something that didn't make sense or something that you mentally didn't want to make sense.
"I'm so sorry." a third voice suddenly spoke up bringing back every recent memory and every small detail.
"Benjamin." you gasped out loud as the voices all felt silent.
Those voices weren't some Godly figure. They were much more than that.
