It was the afternoon. When the birds sang and the wind seemed to dance in the trees.
It was also when the shadows in the hallways seemed to grow bigger.
I hadn't noticed it before. How dark the halls were. Even with torches lit.
The darkness seemed to ooze out of the walls.
But I pushed it out of my mind.
I ran towards the entrance hall.
I could hear the carriage wheels outside.
I stood patiently.
Beside me was the Housekeeper and Tanaka.
The doors opened. And he walked in.
Brown curls seemed to dance in the air.
His eyes ponder all over the room.
Then they set on mine.
He comes closer.
I curtsy.
He pats my head.
"Come to my drawing room later"
And with that he leaves. His coat whipping behind him.
