It is morning and the birds sing.
The light streams in through the windows.
I am tired.
But today is busy. Today we have guest for the first time.
I meet Him on the way to breakfast. Dressed in his nice clothes.
Sometimes I forget that he is a halfer. Those green eyes so rare to been seen where I use to live.
They are shiny and full of life unlike my dull brown ones that match every other boys.
We eat. And as I think about it I want to ask.
"Count?" I call.
Shocked he looks up at me.
"What?"
"How old are you. You know how old I am but I don't know your age."
"Yes, I guess that's true. I'm nineteen."
His answer leaves me in shock
He was only two years older than me.
