I flutter my eyes open. Blue drapes. Dust dancing in the sunlight. From the window.

I felt everything coming back to me.

The letter. The count.

I tried to push it out of my mind.

As I was becoming more and more aware.

I felt a weight on my leg and warmth seemed to radiate my hand.

Peering over.

Counts head is rested on my legs and his fingers are entwined in mine.

Gentle raises of his back tell me he's asleep.

I knew I was too being called back to sleep.

And somehow my other hand brushed his bangs aside,

His face seemed so carefree.

I didn't know why but I didn't take my hand from his as sleep claimed me.
