The doors open. He comes in.
A relief flooded in my chest. As I ran to him and am swept off my feet as I am hugged.
I wrap my arms around him.
Whispering, "Papa, I missed you so much."
"Me too. But I'm only here as a stop to the docks. I'll be leaving for western countries. I'll be gone for a few months at least."
His words shock me. And I hug him harder before letting go.
He shakes counts hand.
"You look so grown up Alexis. It only seems like yesterday that you and Fuyu were playing in the garden. It's very nice to seek you. But I must be going. I only came to say hello."
"Very well sir. Hope you have good luck in your travels."
He left shortly after.
I couldn't shake this feeling.
Dread.
