Things Have Changed For Me [SEQUEL TO FORM A MOUNTAIN]

Chapter Twenty Four

KENDALL'S POV

When Ryan and Pey found us, Brendon and I were making out behind a tree in Downtown Disney. Peyton rolled her eyes at us and Ryan just stood there with a look of "really guys?" on his face. 

"Oh hey" I said as I wiped my lips and straightened my tank top. 

"I think I just lost my appetite" Ryan said. 

"No one said you had to watch" Brendon countered. 

"Can we just eat?" Peyton asked. 

Peyton and Ryan were wearing matching ear hats and it was actually kind of adorable, it was so them. They smiled and held hands as we walked around and looked at places to eat. We ended up just getting some sandwiches and sodas. We found a little table and ate together; Peyton was so dainty when she took little bites of her tuna sandwich while I attacked my triple meat club. Brendon laughed when I got a bit of lettuce on my cheek. He wiped it away and kept eating his own food. 

We finished up lunch and walked around a little bit more before going on rides. Peyton didn't look so good; she was walking slower than the rest of us and had a really pale pigment to her skin. Suddenly she ran up to a trash can and blew chunks in it. Ryan raced up behind her and rubbed her back. 

"Babe what's happening?" he asked. 

She vomited again before slowly standing back up, she looked awful. 

"Guys I think we should get her to a hospital" Brendon said. 

Peyton nearly fainted on the ground so Ryan picked her up and carried her back to the car. I drove as fast as I could to the nearest emergency room and we all approached the nurse's desk. 

"Hi, my friend might have a bad case of food poisoning. We need to get her some help immediately" I said. 

The nurse took one look at Peyton and called for a wheel chair and a bucket. A couple nurses wheeled her off behind some doors and we weren't allowed to follow. Ryan was a nervous wreck in the waiting room. Brendon and I both stayed by his side in support. 

A doctor came into the area and approached us. 

"Well she's not dying" he said "But she has a severe case of food poisoning coupled with dehydration. We'll need to keep her here over night. You kids are free to come back in the morning but for now she's resting"

"Can we see her?" Ryan asked "I just need to see her"

"Of course" the doctor took Ryan to Peyton's room while Brendon and I went out to the car. 

RYAN'S POV

She looked so lifeless. Her dark hair was pinned behind her head as she laid in the hospital bed attached to all sorts of monitors. I stood next to the bed and actually cried by her side. I hated seeing her like this, I loved her so much. 

"Pey, I am so sorry" I said "Stupid sandwich ruined everything"

I knew she couldn't hear me but talking to her made me feel better about this. 

"I'll see you tomorrow" I said. I kissed her forehead and walked out. I took one last look back at her, so frail and helpless. If I could stay all night, I would but Brendon and Kendall were in the car. We all drove back to Kendall's house where they went to bed but I didn't sleep. 

PEYTON'S POV

I woke up in the middle of the night in the hospital. I leaned over the side of my bed and threw up into a trash can. I must have eaten something bad when we were at Disneyland. There was a bouquet of flowers next to my bed from Ryan. I tried to reach out for them but I was so weak. I laid back and fell back asleep, hopefully they'd come visit me in the morning.
