Eager Beaver

My mind buzzed with possible answers to his question. Well where did I start? I couldn't exactly just come out with 'Oh yeah that's the guy who took my virginity, got rid as soon as the deed was done and it turns out it was all a bet.' That would probably not go down all that well.

"Just some loser. Anyways how about we get the hell out of here?" I asked trying to steer away from the subject.

His cheeks turned pink at this remark. Cute. "Y-yeah we can do," he stuttered.

"Chill out dude! I have to meet my friend for a bit of retail therapy, you could join if you'd like? A male viewpoint would be very helpful I'd really owe you one," I giggled whilst winking.

His cheeks turned that cute shade of pink again. Bless.

"Well c'mon then let's go," he said grinning and pulling my hand into his.

"Well you took your time, thought that you'd forgotten about me for a minute; then I realised no one could forget about me, cos I’m just too amazing! My next thought was that you'd been kidnapped by some lunatic ninja with a fetish for sunglasses. Then again you’d probably talk their ears off so they’d just give you back, “Becky shouted from across the mall.

Noticing Matt, Becky started grinning like an idiot; goodness knows what he was thinking when he saw her. Probably thinking something along the lines of 'Who is this shouting, grinning loon?' As first impressions go, this wasn't one of the best. Looking into Matt's eyes I silently pleaded with him to forgive me. I just prayed that he was telepathic.

"Well aren't you going to introduce me?" Becky said rudely interrupting my attempts at telepathy.

"Matt this is Becky, my best friend. Becky this is Matt we just bumped into each other."

"Literally," Matt laughed.

His laugh sounded so good that I could have easily listened to it all day long He really was dreamy; dribbling, mouth watering kind of dreamy.

“Love you,” Becky innocently smiled.

“Go on then...” I sighed.

"Don't kill me but I've gotta head off. Family troubles or something so I'm gonna have to bail on our shop, shop, shopping. Forgive me pwetty pwease?" Becky pleaded. To add to the effect she decided to stick her bottom lip out.

"Just go," I muttered trying to sound offended. I just couldn't help it and ended up giggling. "You're lucky I love you now do one!"

In all honesty, I was relieved. Another run in with Jase was the last thing that I wanted and staying at the mall would mean just that. As hilarious as his reaction had been, seeing him again would just make me want to punch his lights out. I’m not usually a violent person, but Jase now had one of those faces.

"Thanks gorgeous love you too. I'll ring you later, you can fill me in on all the gory details," she winked as she said this and turned to walk away.

"Well what shall we do now?" Matt mumbled. His head was looking at the floor and he kept shuffling from one foot to another. Nervous maybe? Who knows?

"Could go back to yours," I blurted.

It was all I could to stop myself slapping my forehead in embarrassment. Matt now probably thought I wanted to get into his pants, seeing as I had been such an eager beaver!

Before I knew it we were pulling up at a small, white apartment block. My guess was that there were about six apartments contained inside.Tall oak trees shaded the building; the leaves were dancing in the slight breeze.

The car door next to me swung open, glancing down I saw Matt knelt holding the door open and circling his hand as if I were royalty. He was a little bit crazy himself it seemed and I couldn't help but titter. He held his hand to help me out his car and I took it graciously. I was thinking how much of a gentleman he was when he practically dragged me to the glass door only turning to lock the car when he reached the door. Maybe not! Leading me to the end of the hall he stumbled trying to get his keys in the door.

"Sorry babe I'm going to need both hands for this."

I quickly let go off his hand and felt a warm feeling once again in my cheeks. He seemed to be able to make me blush with such ease. Matt pushed the door open and I couldn't help but look at him expectantly to enter. Suddenly I felt my feet leave the ground and I was flung over Matt's shoulder with a shriek. He must have found the shriek hilarious because he burst into a fit of giggles so much so that I thought he was going to drop me. He didn’t; thankfully, he gently placed me on the couch and sat down next to me resting my head on his lap.

A wave of relief swept over me when it hit me that Matt wasn't expecting to sleep with me. He did seem like a genuine guy so I knew that wasn't the first thing on his mind. I was still a little preoccupied and reluctant though, after all I thought Jase wasn't like that and where did I end up? Heartbroken and vengeful. Not at the greatest milestone in my life, that was for sure. I began to feel a little awkward as I realised I was in the home of a guy I had met not even an hour earlier.

Glancing around me I began to take in the new setting. It wasn’t a typical lad’s pad. In my mind I imagined a bachelor pad as somewhere with a big ass TV, ‘lad mags’ scattered everywhere and just generally littered with odd socks and empty beer cans. He did have a big ass TV, and I’m sure I spied an odd sock lurking under an arm chair but Matt’s apartment was homely. The warm yellow walls were full to the brim of various photographs of Matt and who I assumed to be his family and friends.

The awkwardness soon faded and we spent the next few hours talking about anything and everything. As cliché as it sounds it felt like I had known him for my whole lifetime. At first I was just telling him the basics; where I went to school; where I lived; just general chit chat. After not long we began to open up about our aspirations, our fears and our pasts. My heart nearly broke when Matt explained that at the age of two he’d been struck with Meningitis. The effect on his family was devastating, his parents had split over the stress and he blamed himself, Hearing him pour his heart out brought tears to my eyes.

“Fancy a drink?” Matt asked as if we had just been discussing something trivial like the weather.

Taken aback by the sudden change of topic I only managed to nod. I decided not to dwell on Matt’s confession and I text my Mum letting her know that I'd be home tomorrow and I'd be staying out. I was sure that Becky wouldn't mind me turning up at her house when I was done. She probably wanted all the gossip on this mysterious stranger. That was when I caught Matt gazing at me adoringly as he handed me a hot chocolate. I took a swig of the hot chocolate, burning my tongue in the process before placing it down on the table. Resting my head on his chest he began stroking my hair and I felt my eyes close. I felt so safe here. As crazy as it sounds this guy that I had known for a few hours made me feel safer than anyone else had before. My eyes began to feel heavier and heavier as Matt continued to stroke my hair. Before I fell asleep completely I felt a gentle kiss on my forehead and Matt whispered "You're so beautiful Aimee. Sweet dreams."
