Date Night

My clock read 18:50 as I smoothed down my dress and checked the mirror to see how I looked. The silver eyeliner across my eyelids made my icy blue eyes sparkle, framed by full lashes. I had to look perfect tonight. Eyeing my dress in the mirror I knew I had made the right decision. This dress wasn't slutty it made me look like a nice young lady, although I couldn't help think that Thomas wouldn't think that for too long. It was a deep blue halterneck, with a tight waistband, that flowed just above my knees. As I moved away from the mirror my dress floated along with me. I chose black kitten heels and my black handbag to match.

The dark street was suddenly illuminated by two beams of light, which I found to be my date when I peeped out of the window. The corners of my mouth turned upwards into a small smile as I looked to find it was only five to seven. Bless him.

I made sure that everything was in my bag as I strolled out of my room. There was no need to tell my parents where I was going because they weren't even in. I didn't know where they had gone either, things had been a bit tense when I had arrived home earlier. By tense I mean they hadn't spoken to me or even looked at me, and I for one had no intention of being the first to speak. I continued to the front and door and opened it to a cool but refreshing breeze.

As I stepped out I saw Thomas' head snap up and look at me in awe. He quickly averted his eyes and got out the car before opening the door on the passenger side. I strolled over and smiled gratefully before getting into the car. Thomas shut the door behind me and walked back to the driver's seat whilst I fastened my buckle. He climbed in the car and sat in silence for a moment before  starting up the car.

Fifteen minutes must have passed with us both sat in silence. It wasn't exactly a comfortable silence more awkward. I kept noticing him stealing glances of me but when I turned to him he'd quickly stare back at the road. Boy was he shy!

"So Thomas, how come I've never seen you around before?" I queried trying to break the ice.

"Oh...ummm...I've just moved into town. Only been here for two weeks so I'm still settling in," he replied.

"We'll do you want me to direct you to Valentino's seeing as you're new around here? We're not actually that far from it," I stated.

"No that's okay thanks. My parents just happen to own it. Lucky eh? As weird as this is gonna sound but...errmmm...what's your name?" he nervously chuckled.

I felt furious that he couldn't even remember my name, until it dawned on me I hadn't even told him! Oops! My mistake made me giggle.

"Aimee...I'm Aimee," I managed to splutter between giggles.

"Well Aimee, we're here," he said as we pulled up in the car park.

I sat there for a minute before getting out. I was going out on a date at Jase's workplace which I knew would annoy him. To make it better I was on a date with his boss' son at his workplace, he'd be infuriated if his reaction to Matt was anything to go by.

My trail of thought was interrupted when I saw Thomas holding my door open, he was such a gentleman. I climbed out the car, in as much of a ladylike manner as I could manage, and tottered over to the front door. Thomas pulled the door open for me and I sauntered in to met with Jase.

His eyes lit up and a huge grin appeared on his face when he saw me, he instantly started to check me out. His face soon was taken over by fury when he saw Thomas step forward and take his arm in mine. I couldn't help but think 'Ha! Take that Jase' and I just smiled politely, My eyes told a different story though, they were saying 'well you wanted to mess with me'.

"Jason sort your tie out it's wonky," Thomas hissed.

This was the most forceful I'd ever seen Thomas and I couldn't help but grin mischievously as I strutted past Jase; making sure to shake my hips that little bit more as I did. Thomas led me to a secluded little table on the patio. It was absolutely stunning, candlelight shone brightly illuminating the dark night. He pulled out my chair and ushered me to sit. I obeyed and graciously sat down.

Over dinner Thomas opened up alot. Not about anything of interest to me though, just about his parents, his car, when he lived in Florida and soccer. I genuinely felt sorry for him he seemed like a lovely guy and here I was using him to make someone else jealous. I couldn't help but peek over at Jase during the dinner. He looked annoyed, really annoyed. Every so often when our eyes would meet I would laugh like Thomas had said the funniest thing ever, which confused the poor guy alot. Petty I know but each and everytime Jase's face would scream jealousy.

Jase just happened to be the waiter who delivered our dessert, I wondered how he managed to arrange that. We had an ice cream sundae, I used to love them as a kid you see, instantly I fed Thomas a spoonful.

"Oops sorry you've got some on your lips let me get that for you," I purred before leaning forward and meeting his lips with mine.

He responded gently kissing me back, I felt nothing. No butterflies, no sparks, nothing whatsoever. It wasn't that he was a bad kisser he was a good kisser I just couldn't get into it. I pulled away to find a shocked Jase gawping at me, before he shuffled away.

I quickly excused myself and raced to the bathroom. I pushed the door open and tottered over to the mirror. Looking at myself in the mirror I barely recognised the person that stood before me. It wasn't that I didn't recognise my physical appearance just the person that I'd become. Usually boys like Thomas would have me falling at my feet. He was good looking, sweet, funny, a gentleman and passionate about his interests. Instead he was a pawn in my game of payback, a tool to make Jase jealous. I couldn't deny that it was working though. Someone enetered the bathroom so I used this as my opportunity to exit and return to dinner. Before I could leave I found myself gazing into those gorgeous chocolate eyes.

"Jase should you be in here?" I hissed "This is the ladies you know."

He ignored me. What a jerk! To my surprise I found his lips roughly pushed onto mine. Sparks instantly igniting as he did so; it took all my strength not to kiss him back. I pushed him away and strode out of the bathroom.

Making my way back to the table I replayed the previous moments in my head unable to shake them away. I felt awful to lie but I told Thomas that I felt unwell and asked if he could take me home. He agreed before joking "I hope you're not trying to blame the food."

                                                                        ****************

We sat in silence once again on the journey home. To my surprise Jase text me.

'What the hell???? Have I done something wrong???'

Had he done anything wrong? Well that was just a minor understatement, he knew what he had done. He just wasn't aware that I knew. That is why it irritated him so much that I was out with other guys and not fawning over him. I wasn't begging him to notice me like he experienced with every single girl he'd slept with, which is alot of girls. The thought of this gave me so much satisfaction, as twisted as it sounds, but my games were only beginning.

After what felt like an eternity we finally stopped outside my house. I couldn't wait to escape this silent car and inject some volume into my ears!

"Thanks for a lovely evening," I smiled as I gave him a kiss on the cheek. I raced out of the car before he could exit to open my door. I jogged up my path, not the easiest thing to do in heels no matter how small may I add, relieved to finally be home. I waved, not even turning to face him and rushed into my house.

What an eventful night!
