Dan's POV

I sit helplessly in what currently feels like a metallic cage. What was going to happen to him?

My entire world was right here in front of me. Unconscious. What would the universe do without him in it? My mind seems to bounce from that thought, as if there is a wall put up preventing me from thinking about his possible death. I feel my ribs demanding attention as I struggle for breath, stubbornly ignoring my sore midsection.

I sit as a result of needing to calm my breathing, and feeling lightheaded. My eyes conjure the illusion of strange black shapes crowning my vision.

I mean, I'm inside a phone. There are strangle black figures everywhere. However, there's black, then there's jet black. The figures were jet black, only the brain could create a shade this light absorbing and fear causing.

I turn over to look at Phil through the camera and I'm relieved when I notice that his chest is moving slowly.

I calm down and try to distract myself until the ambulance arrives. When I hear thrashing I look to him and want to restrain his arms so he can't hurt himself.

'Dan!'

'Phil I'm here. Phil?!'

His eyes are wide open and his thrashing turns to a tremble.

'Y- you're right here? You can't be. I'm so far away Dan.'

'Phil you need to calm down. They'll help you once they're here.'

'D-Dan. Who?.'

'Phil, the ambulance. I'm right here.'

'I'm not really here though am I?'

I hear sirens growing louder and I feel slightly relieved that someone is going to help him.

'Dan. I-I miss you.'

'I'm never going to leave you,Phil.'

'Can't you see, Dan?'

Footsteps grow louder and Phil shuts his eyes. His nonsensical demeanour in that moment will stay in my mind forever.

The only thing worse than the sympathy you feel when helping someone is not being able to help. As Phil is dragged out on a stretcher it takes all of me to not scream, not that anybody would hear me, but screaming won't help. Screaming and crying can't heal Phil. If anybody even happened to hear me it would cause suspicion, worst of all if Phil heard me his mind would race and he would start the shaking again.

*****

Hours of worry pass until I hear an abrupt door slam. Who could possibly be entering Phil's apartment? I hear footsteps and odd clanging every once in a while from all round the room, just as I begin to gain suspicion I feel myself being pushed closer to the centre of the earth as someone carelessly picks me up. When I look through the camera I recognize Chris as he attempts to access Phil's phone with his thumb. Phil's settings were saved in iCloud before he got rid of his old phone. Potentially, Chris could enter Phil's phone right now. However, this was not the case since I have control.
