A wild update appears!! Sorry it's been so long since our last update... We are even worse than Dan 😂. Speaking of which... WE ACTUALLY MET THE LITTLE BEANS. We went to TATINOF in Toronto and if you are reading this and you live in America and don't have tickets, definitely go buy some. The show was really AMAZING (and notonfire). No spoilers but it was SO good. Anyways we hope you like the chapter, thanks for sticking with us.

Phil's POV

I was released from the hospital 7 days later. Growing sick of Chris's constant supervision, all I wanted was to talk to Dan. We could only get in short conversations of 'Hey Phil, how are you?" followed by my response of "I'm getting a bit bored in this hospital." At that point, we would typically get interrupted.

Since my hospital release, I've been at home resting. Chris has been at my flat constantly making sure that I've been going through life properly. Eating, sleeping, drinking. It's rather nice being around Chris again. However, I know not to let this enhance my feelings for him in any way, as this is most likely going to end as soon as I'm back on my feet.

He's been staying over night at my flat too. Obviously he isn't in my room with me like... before, he's staying on the sofa. I've had more time to talk to Dan, he's concerned about Chris.

"Are you sure him staying is a good idea?" Dan's voice is drowning in concern and worry.

"He's only staying until I can live on my own." I say that more like I'm trying to convince myself. "Then he's leaving." My voice is just a whisper.

I distract myself through tracing my hand over the pattern on my bedsheets. What if Chris stays too long and I get too used to him? Dan is right. Yet, something keeps me from telling him to leave. It sounds unhealthy when said aloud, but Chris is finally back in my life and for him to leave now would break me all over again.

My thoughts are disrupted by a knock on my bedroom door and I jump.

"Come in." I say in a flat tone.

The door starts to open and Chris pokes his head into my room, another concerned expression on his face.

"I'm going out for a bit. Do you want anything?" He says, his voi ce a bit apprehensive.

"No, I'm good." The flat tone remains.

"Do you want to come with me Phil?"

"Chris," I start. "I-I can be on my own. Don't worry"

He nods solemnly, only turning to me when he's almost outside of the door. Looking up expectantly, his eyes stay full of emotion.

"I'm fine, Chris." I say adjusting my hair.

His footsteps cause creaking in the floor. When the sound fades out, I find myself almost at peace.

Everything might be okay soon. Chris and I are still capable of taking care of each other and realizing when to be civil.

When I know Chris is out of the flat, I turn to my left. I pick up my phone and hold it flat in my hands. A worried voice creeps out of the speakers.

"Phil?" The voice shakes.

"Yes, Chris?"

Dan's POV

He called me Chris. He actually called me Chris. I'm looking up at him when he says it. I see his face fill with distress as he realizes what he just said.

"I'm sorry, Dan. I am so, so sorry." He utters.

My voice seems to be stuck in my throat but I manage to get out, "It's fine." I'm stuck staring into the beautiful eyes I've been mesmerized by. Their resemblance to the sea astonishes me. With one wave everything in its path can be crushed.

Despite tears trying to slip out of my eyes, they're stuck, just like the rest of my body. Frozen in time that doesn't seem to be moving. I can feel a sting where the tears are trapped, like a burn, like a cut of a knife. Which I guess if I'm speaking metaphorically, I have have been burned and cut.

A silence shadows over the room but before it can last too long there's a pounding on the front door. I can see Phil get up and leave me behind. His eyes are conflicted and his stance is unsure. He moves out of view as there is another set of pounding. I can hear when he opens the door and a new but familiar voice enters the flat.
