he wondered about you.
he gave you all,
he poured out everything for you.
i told him that
he was foolish,
foolish to give and give
until he was damn near empty.
but he didn't stop.
he didn't expect anything
in return,
but i can bet that he
wanted something
in return.
did he love you?
(i never considered it to be love.)
did you love him back?
(i don't know.)
and really,
i don't care if you did
or if you didn't.
what i do care is that
he cried a
sweater of tears for you
and he drowned in it.
