beautiful

skin.
cuts and scars
should not have
a home
on your
body.
broken bones
should not
be the
result of love.
it's a cycle.
they hurt you,
they make a promise,
they swear they
won't do it again.
it's a cycle.
you forgive,
you forget,
you get beaten.
every single time,
they say they just
lost their
temper
and they promise it will
never happen
again, that it was a
one-time thing.
soon, the "one-time thing"
becomes a routine.
and soon,
you'll get sick of
using concealer every morning
to soften the
purple, green, and
black hues that
lives on your
skin.
don't lie to yourself.
