Elliot and Adam had such a sweet relationship.

They had been together for a few months. It did not matter to them that many people stared at them with disapproval when they held hands, the only thing that they cared about was each other, and I admired that so much. They were not afraid to love who they loved and not scared to be who they were.

We were all in a wooden table of Starbucks with cups of coffee in our hands. We had sat down beside a window, and I could see as the raindrops fell from the dark clouds in a silent manner. Everyone in town had on their jackets and they were holding their umbrellas.

I used my coffee to keep my hands warm because the air was so cold. Elliot and Adam had not said much for a few moments, we were all just staring out at the street as the people walked down the sidewalk.

"How is Blake?" Adam wondered all of a sudden. I turned to him as a soft sigh escaped my lips and I shook my head. I was so worried about my best friend, and I just did not know what to do with her anymore.

"Blake is a disaster. She is not going out; she just stays home and listens to sad Ariana Grande music," I said to him in a concerned tone as I took another sip of my cup of coffee. Adam nodded in understanding and looked down at the wooden table as he bit his lip.

"It is so terrible," Elliot agreed. "I wish there was something we could do."

"I think you should just let her be alone for a few days," Adam told us, his tone pensive as he scratched the back of his neck. I slanted my head to the side and waited for him to go on. "She should have some time to heal. When she is ready to go out again, she will tell you."

"I guess you are right," I replied. I looked around Starbucks, the store was almost empty. I was reminded of The Book Escape, since nobody ever went there. That day, at work, I had only had to attend three customers. But Kyle had not been around, which was why I had not had much to do anyways.

"Anyways," Adam exclaimed. I could tell that he wanted to change the topic because he did not want us to be worried about Blake, since she was so sad and heartbroken. He smiled at me and raised his eyebrows as he said, "Elliot told me about the boy you have a crush on."

"Do you mean Josh?" I was confused because I had told Adam about my feelings for that boy so many times before. But what I did not know was that he was talking about Kyle, the boy that annoyed me so much but astonished me at the same time.

"No, I mean Kyle Norwood!" he told me as he took my hand from across the table. I rolled my eyes and started to open my mouth to argue with him, but he went on. "We looked for him on social media and found some pictures of him. He is so attractive!"

If Adam had seen pictures of Kyle, he was going to tell me to take a chance with him. But he did not know him, he did not realize just how confident, smug and annoying this boy could be. I did not want to be around him for more time than what was needed. I wrinkled my nose and said, "I'm not into him."

"I don't believe you," Elliot told me. I scoffed at them, as if what they were saying was insane. But truly, I could see why they did not believe me. Kyle was almost perfect, and I would be out of my mind if I was not interested in him. "He is so handsome and he wants you."

"How are you so sure he really wants to be with me?" I grumbled. I was sort of tired of everyone telling me that Kyle wanted me for more than just a good time, because I knew better than to believe them. After what Ava had told me the day before, I was more than sure of what he was looking for in me. I assured my friends, "He is nothing but a player; he wants to mess with my feelings."
