(Mariah's POV)

After a whole day of thinking I slowly walked to my apartment dreading getting there. I sighed heavily as I reached my door. I turned the knob and noticed that I forgot to lock it this morning; oh well. It's the leaf village; no one would break into your house. (hehe Naruto would)

I went into my room shutting the door and then sitting on my bed. I stared at my dresser then at the picture of my team. Then I noticed something out of place. I quickly got up and jumped towards my dresser. I scrutinized the frames on the desk and saw that the two that were face down were moved. I could tell that it was moved because there was dust on the desk and I could see a clear spot on where it used to be.

I looked around my room and saw that both closet doors were slightly opened. I checked through the whole house and came to the conclusion. Someone has broken into my house. He/she isn't that good of a ninja because they left a lot of clues behind so it wasn't any of the people after me. One name popped into my mind and that name was Naruto.

I decided to worry about that in the morning. I took a shower and changed into my street cloths. I wore a black tee short sleeved for once even though it showed my scars, and I wore blue shorts with my usual chain on it. For once I wasn't wearing my headband; I just had my hair cover my eye. I walked out the door and started to walk around the village.

It was only eight at night so some people were still outside. As I passed the ramen place I noticed that my team, along with the other genin were all in their along with their senseis'. I decided not to go in there because one it was too crowed and two, I wasn't invited so there's no point.

I shoved my hands into my pockets and started to walk around the village looking at the stores. Some things in stores caught my eye but I didn't feel like buying them. I then passed a pet store and decided to go in. I saw a cute little kitty in a cage looking very sad. I went over to it.

It was a full grown calico cat with brown, black, and white splotches covering its long soft fur. It had forest green eyes with brown speckles around the pupils making it look unique.

"What's wrong little guy?" I asked it.

"I've been here for so many years and no one wants to adopt me." She replied.

"Awe why don't they want to adopt you?"

"You can understand me?!" She shouted shocked.

"Yeah it's my Kekkei genkai." I said rubbing the back of my head.

"Well they don't want to adopt me because I'm not a cute little kitten. I've been in this small cage for two years watching kittens getting adopted."

"Aaaawweeee don't worry, I'll adopt you."

"Really?!" She said with sparkles in her eyes.

"Of course! You're so beautiful and plus I prefer cats over kittens because you don't need to teach them stuff."

I went over to the man working at the shop and told him that I wanted to adopt the cat. He told me that she costs $20 (idk how much 20 is in yen -_-) I paid him and he got her out of the cage and handed her to me.

"Here you go, she's all yours." He said.

I held her in my arms close to my chest so that she wouldn't fall.

"Thank you so much for adopting me!" She exclaimed.

"It was no problem at all. I know what it's like to be stuck in a cage for a long period of time. It's not fun." I replied.
