Hey guys!

I'm still trying to get used to at how much attention this story got in such a short time. And, for that, I wanted to thank every single one of you so much! I reread each chapter at least four times to make sure that it's perfect- for me at least. :D

And that's mostly the reason why it takes me so long to update, that and I'm still on vacation.

So, here's chapter two! :)

Once we reached the car, he slowly put me down on the ground and dug his hands in his pockets, to which I assumed to search for the keys. And as he did that, facing away from me and completely unaware of what I was doing, my thoughts wandered back at what he had said. 'Because I'll take everything away from you, whether you like it or not', that was what he had said to me.

Every single muscle freeze in my body. Every movement was stopped before I could even exercise them for my escape, leaving me standing there with open arms in the dark, cold, empty streets to this abnormally frightening and intimidating man.

My brain had a hard time to process these cruel, terrifyingly words, let alone to sort the meaning of them out. But, the fright rushing in my veins that quickly, was a reminder that unfortunately this, was real and not a sick imagination of mine I tended to have a lot.

But now, I wished more than ever, that this, even though they were so bad, that scary that they left me for days sleepless and without eating anything, was nothing more than the imaginations that were fighting their ways into my mind to remind me of that terrible accident I so desperately wanted to forget. Perhaps, this was a way of showing me that I never, in a million years would get over it.

"Shh, baby, I'll get you warm in a second," and only after he spoke, I took notice of my from fear shaking body. My hands were clenched tightly into fists as I tried and miserably failed at keeping my sight clear. But it was no use, the sight of mine got more blurred with the seconds passing by. Seconds, that led me closer and closer at being in the arms of this sick stranger again.

But that, would not happen. Not now, not here, not ever.

I knew what I had to do. I just had to close my eyes, count to three and take a deep breath in before running as quick as I could without ever looking back. That was what my brother taught me to do whenever I felt like escaping situations I felt uncomfortable or scared in.

"Close your eyes, Chloe, and picture the most peaceful place on earth you'd like to be while you're counting to three. And after that, run, run towards that beautiful place and never look back. Do you understand me? Do that, whenever you're scared. Promise me, that you'll do that." That was what he had said to me after two police officers were stood at front of our house, telling us about the terrible incident I still, to this day couldn't quite believe and didn't want to. Yet, the police officers were there to talk everything with us through as soon as we were ready and said that everything would be fine again, like every one else, they weren't aware of the happenings that took place later on then.

The masked man who used to follow not only me but my brother as well, claiming that our family was his next target and wanted to make our lives for not dying on the same day as my parents did a living hell and that he did, till the police captured him two weeks later of harassing and scaring us to death.

That was exactly four months ago.

Those sleepless nights, the paranoia of mine that easily got the better of me whenever I heard a noise that made me flinch and hide away in fright were long gone but the thought of it happening again was enough for me to stay locked up in the safety of my house.
