       You have to.

For the past thirty minutes, though that only felt like seconds with the time prickling by much quicker than I would like to have it, those three words would not stop repeating themselves over and over again in my head. With my hands being curled up tightly as they gripped onto the hem of the dress the beautiful woman called Alice, who turned out to be a witch, gave me.

The uncontrollably shaking hands of mine did not reach up to my cheeks to wipe away the many tears slipping through my closed eyes, as I was not caring at all that the few tears of mine were falling down onto my lap, turning few spots of the crimson red coloured dress into a much darker colour as it originally was.

The normally quiet, soft ticking of the clock was so loudly now, a horrible reminder of the fact that the time like I hoped for secretly, did no go back. Opening my watery eyes, my gaze immediately landed on the clock. Upon seeing the time, taking note of the view minutes I had left before he would attend me with his presence, I closed my eyes once again as I tried to force the many tears wanting to be let out away.

I had to. I had to. I had to.

Taking a deep, calming breathe in, I tried to drain out the ticking of the clock, the heavy pounding of my heart and the trembling of my fingers. I knew that there was no other solution for me, that this was the only way for me to be free again. Even though the appearance of mine would speak against all of the thoughts of mine I was thinking about at the very moment, I was still the frightened girl who wished for nothing more than to be let free and start living her life again as planned out.

The pale skin of mine, the dullness of my eyes and all the motivation at living I had lost were back with only one word spoken from Alice's lips. I did not appear to be the girl who on her stay here was the scared, fragile woman who not only got harassed but abused as well. With looking at me, no one would think for even the slightest of a second that I had been put through the things that I originally had been while being locked up in a mansion full of demons, vampires and whatnot.

My eyes shot open at the sound of someone unlocking the door to the room I was in. I stopped breathing right there, trying to keep all the emotions from my face away as I forced with all the strength I had in me to smile at the man now standing in the doorway, who had also turned my life into a living nightmare as I recalled all the words that had been said to me which I had to try my best at doing.

"I know you don't want this to happen, fuck-" Carter spat out the last word, chuckling humorlessly as he shook his head. "I don't want any more of this to happen but this is the only way, Chloe."

Further explanations did not come from my brother. Tristan, the same man who had offered to help me took over, smiling reassuringly at me before he took a step closer to me. My eyes were glued on him immediately, quickly darting over to see Alice at the end of the room. As my eyes wandered over to my brother shortly, I saw him gripping at his head tightly, twitching on his hair aggressively as he faced the ground. I couldn't utter a word towards him as my name was called out by Tristan to get my attention.
