Rayne's pov

Daryl tapped on the door, signaling the others had found us. I ran out of the door behind Carl and greeted the others. Carl hugged his dad, and I smiled.

"Get over here." Rick said to me and I walked over and hugged both Rick and Carl. We broke the hug and I looked over at Carl, who had the biggest smile on his face.

"Your sister ok?" Rick asked, and Carl nodded,

"Yeah, we're all fine." Carl said with an upbeat tone.

We all migrated inside and Rick found Eric, who was Aaron's boyfriend. It took a little while for me to be comfortable with the idea, but I came around.

We all settled in for the night, Carl and I laying across from Kaylee and Dean, who were getting pretty close to each other.

"I wonder when Gabriel is going to talk to them about abstinence." I smiled up at Carl and he shook his head with a smile.

"Soon, because you know, teens like to experiment and all." I laughed with Carl, remembering back at the church when Gabriel was upset over Carl and I.

"Good times." I joked and kissed Carl.

He tilted my face up to meet his, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I was pulled onto his lap smoothly and I wound my fingers in his hair.

"Um, guys." Kaylee interrupted us. I looked back and saw her and Dean staring at us.

"What?" I asked.

"Don't you think that's a bit, I don't know, gross?" She asked and Carl shook his head.

"No. What's gross is you two watching us." I said and they both blushed.

"Now if you'll excuse us." I said turning back to Carl with a smirk. I leaned in close and pressed my lips to his neck, knowing just the spot that drives him crazy. He brought his hands up and rested them in the curve of my waist.

Shivers were sent throughout my body, and Carl noticed because he tensed up. I brought my lips to his, and intertwined our hands. He brought his hand up and back down my side, which sent warm sparks down my body.

I brought one of my hands down his front, resting it on his chest, making him feel the same way I do.

"Guys. Please. Before you start making babies in front of me, please stop." Kaylee interrupted again an I rolled my eyes.

"Kaylee, I'm begging you." I whined, wanting badly to resume.

"Sorry, it makes me uncomfortable." She shrugged, and I sighed.

"You're not going to let this go, will you?" I asked she she shook her head no.

"Nope."

"I figured." I muttered and got off of Carl, who looked less than impressed with the turn of events. I sat beside him and we stared at Kaylee and Dean, who were across from us. I tapped my fingers on my leg.

"Well, I'm going to sleep." Dean said and Carl nodded in agreement, laying down.

"Goodnight." He said, and I laid down next to him, me being the little spoon.

"Don't let the walkers bite." I said and felt his arm go around my waist.

"The R.V broke down." Carl told me and I nodded, walking out and sat on the highway with the others. Glenn and Abraham were trying to fix the problem.

Judith was in Carl's arms as we leaned up against the car. We were in Virginia now, we just passed the monuments from the highway. It was a lot cooler here in Virginia than it was in Georgia, that's for sure.

"Feels like we may need to find some jackets." I said to Carl.

"Yeah, I'd say it's a good fifteen degrees cooler here." I nodded.

"Where the hell are we gonna find a battery?" Abraham roared from the front of the R.V. I had to laugh at his attitude, he was just too funny, even when he wasn't trying to be. Glenn walked over to the side of the R.V to show a spare battery.

Moments later, we were back on the road. Eugene, Rosita and Tara resumed their card game they had been playing for miles. I didn't understand the game, but I still watched because it was slightly entertaining.

"We're almost there." Carl nudged my arm. I was so nervous about this place, I mean, what if it's another bust? We're getting our hopes up and I'm scared it'll be for nothing.

"Let's hope it's something." I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.

"It will be, I know it." Dean said, appearing from the back of the R.V.

"I hope so." Kaylee joined in.

Everybody seemed to know for sure that this place was good, but I wasn't too sure. Who's to say it'll stand for much longer?

We slowed to a stop, and I looked out of the window. I saw the huge metal wall first.

"We're here." I said as the R.V was turned off. I stood up, and fell in line behind the others who were rushing out of the door.

My boot hit the asphalt and I heard the noises from inside, the people in there sounded happy. I looked to Carl who was on my right and he grabbed my hand and squeezed it for assurance.

Our whole group was standing in front of these huge metal gates, waiting for them to open.
