**If you did not yet see the season 8 mid-season finale, do not read what's below.**

Wow. What an episode. I honestly can say I did not see that coming. Carl getting bit, it hurts my heart. I'm still in shock from it all, I just can't believe it. I'm incredibly saddened, and I wish I could say he can make a comeback, but we all know it's not possible.  Though he's not dead yet, we all know his demise is coming way too soon.

*******I am going to be hosting a Q&A, so leave any questions in the comments, and I'll be answering them soon!*******

In memoriam of Carl, I'm going to leave my favorite scene from my series, and just talk about it for a minute.

Finale (Condemned):

I sat beside her grave in silence until the sun was concealed by the high walls of Alexandria. I sighed and looked down at my hat once more, turning it around in my hands.

I stood up, and placed my hat on top of the cross,

"Goodnight, beautiful."

-The most powerful scene of the entire series, in my opinion. Rayne had just taken her own life, yet everything is tranquil. I love the symbolism in these lines, absolutely love it to death (no pun intended). The "goodnight, beautiful" line has always been present in this story, and I thought it would be bittersweet to end it on what has emotional meaning to the characters. The hat on top of the cross seems way too real now, but I'm glad I did it. It was foreshadowing and I didn't even know it. The hat on top of the cross is by far my favorite detail from the entire series, no matter how saddening it is.
