Rayne's pov

A cloud of dust came rushing my way, blinding me. The groans of walkers echoed throughout the compound. I need to get away from here.

People were running all over the place in different directions. I ran towards the armory as fast as I could, knowing it's my only chance at survival. I practically ripped the door off the hinges and grabbed two pistols, and a semi-automatic. I shoved as much ammunition into my pockets as I could, and got back out there.

Screams were heard everywhere and the dust had yet to settle. I could only see about ten feet in front of me. I held a pistol at the ready and tried to quietly make my way back to the house. It would be my best bet of surviving right now, and I'm counting on the fact that Rick and Carl ran there.

"Oh shit!" I yelled, as I came almost face to face with a walker. I shot it with ease, but there was a sea of walkers out here. I stepped back, and looked for a way out.

"Rayne, over here!" I heard Rick yell, and saw a small opening to Jessie's house where they were. I took off in a sprint, dodging walkers here and there. They opened the door and I barely made it to the porch in time.

I slammed the door behind me, and locked it. I doubled over, and tried to catch my breath,

"You ok? Any scratches or bites?" Michonne asked and I shook my head.

"No."

"Good, now let's get out of the way." Rick carried Deanna up the stairs, who had a large blood streak on her shirt. I followed behind Rick and heard some type of music blaring. I ransacked the house looking for the source, and found Ron's little brother sitting in his room.

"Turn that shit off!" I yelled at him, but he stayed still. I quickly made my way over to the record player and found the power source, and turned it off. Carl carried a crying Judith down the hallway and I turned to look at Sam, who was frozen with fear.

"Is it the monsters?" He asked. I rubbed my forehead and crouched down so that I was at eye level with him.

"It is. Sam, we all need you to be strong, ok? Just stay in here, close your blinds and keep quiet, it'll all be over soon." I grabbed his shoulders and he nodded with a distant look in his eye.

I shut his door on my way out and ran into the other room where they laid Deanna down on a bed. Rick was barking orders to the people around him.

"Rayne. You check on Carl, Ron and Judith, make sure they're ok. Keep them calm." I nodded and rushed into the other room where Judith was placed in a playpen.

"Is everyone ok? No scratches, no bites?" I looked at them, and they both shook their head.

"Good. Ron, you need to take care of your brother, he's freaking out." I ordered in a surprisingly demanding and calm tone. Ron walked out of the room, and I turned the blind down in the room I was in.

"Are you ok?" Carl frantically asked me.

"I'm fine. Just trying to keep everyone sane." I said.

"Everyone is doing their part. Take some deep breaths." He walked over to me. I shut my eyes and took a few cleansing breaths.

"Now, we're inside, they're taking care of Deanna, it's all ok." He calmed me down.

"Yeah, you're right." I said and laid the guns I grabbed by the door. I turned back around and was hit with a wave of nausea.

"My mom." I whispered.

"What about her? I'm sure she got inside a house, she's probably worried about you." I shook my head, tears welling up in my eyes.
