I walked past the insults. They were the same hurtful ones. Always the same at school. Then I got home with the always different surprise from my foster dad and his sons.
Either a punch, slap, kick, so are words, others are objects. Things thrown at me.
I walk upstairs after getting my beating. Today's was worse. I had blooding spurring from my forehead.
I have had enough. I packed a giant bag with everything I thought I would need. Food water clothes sleeping bag flashlight candles lighter matches batteries blankets.
After that I crawled out of my window and ran away. I'm in the woods and notice how much blood I've lost. Then I felt myself drop into arms. I see darkness with no hearing.
Everything is a blur. My sight can focus on where ever I am. I think I'm in a house..... Or a tree.
"Hey, take it easy"
I blink multiple times before my eye sight finally starts to focus on the boy the is standing in front of me.
"What's your name?"
I didn't answer his question. Instead I just quickly pushed myself away from him. He could tell that I was scared.
"I won't hurt you. I promise. You lost a lot of blood and you passed out. I was trying to help you."
I pull my knees to my chest trying to protect myself any way that I could. What if he is like my foster family.
"J-just l-leave me alone."
"I'm sorry but I can't. Your hurt and I'm not letting you go out into the forest like this."
"Your like 12"
"Actually in 14. I ran away 2 years ago when I was 12"
"Where am I?"
"Your in a tree house. It's high off the ground so people won't see it. I live here"
I didn't respond to him. I just wrap my arms around my knees and lay my head down.
I felt tired but I promised myself I wouldn't fall asleep with this guy.
I look up to see him put a blanket around me. Soon later I fell asleep.
