Our shopping trip was quite successful indeed, we bought many beautiful and costly - but worth the cost nonetheless- clothes to wear for the both of us, finally purchased my new school uniform after mum made another phone call to the school to make sure we didn't forget to buy anything else. My uniform consisted of a crisp white shirt, black trousers or a skirt and a purple neat tie.

I loved it.

I start school on Monday, which is tomorrow, so we decided to end our day comparatively early... not wanting to be late for my first official day of school. The rest of our stuff from our old abode turned up just after our shopping trip, so we spent the rest of Sunday relaxing by the pool and chitchatting about absolute nonsense and laughing like two teens on a trip. Sunday night came and went swiftly, and now it was already time for bed. I hung my uniform up in my closet, crisp and new, ready to wear tomorrow and headed towards a much needed shower.

My alarm went off at six thirty sharp the next morning; I got up and went off towards the general direction of the bathroom, going through all the morning necessities with half an eye open. Once I was out of my clothes and inside the shower, I was finally completely awake. I put my uniform on wordlessly, deciding on putting my skirt on with knee high black socks with purple trim around the top, my white shirt with a black knitted sleeveless jumper on top with my purple tie tucked in my jumper. I added my small kitten black heels to the mix, in short, making me ready with the perfect outfit I could maintain. I felt the need to have my hair straight today and add a minimal amount if pink lip gloss to get the naturally luscious look.

Once I checked myself out in the mirror and made a sound of approval, I made my way downstairs and followed the smell of bacon, drooling already. Boy! Was I hungry... I immediately found my mum in the kitchen, a small smile on her face as she hummed over the dull sizzle of the pan. She looked up as I walked inside the kitchen and took a seat by the counter.

"Good morning, sweetie. You excited to start your new school?" She was definitely almost as excited as I was, pouring some orange juice into my glass for me and he contagious smile never leaving her face.

"Yeah, mom! I am." I grinned back at her as she commented, "You look very cute, Lina." I blushed slightly at the compliment and she continued, "Although I wonder what on earth made my child dress like a girl? After all these years I felt like I had a son!" she chuckled out loud at that and I playfully glared back at her. But she is right; I used to cover up and hide behind clothes until the only body part one could visibly see was my bulbous head. I always needed to wear long sleeve tops to hide all my bruises on my arms and baggy trousers because whenever I wore those skin tight trousers or half sleeves shirts that I adored, the constant reminder of bruises and aching in my muscles kept me down. It also luckily got me from getting any attention paid to during school hours. Even if somebody did see me under my hideous clothing, my father made it a mission to scare them away from me in a way that they'd change their direction when we ran into each other in the hallways.

Thanks mum, I thought it was about time for a much needed change. I'm the new and improved Lina, and I'd like to stay this way."

"I am so proud of you darling, don't you ever forget that."

We sat down to breakfast exchanging small talk and my mother reminding me about school ethics and where should I go for the map of the school and such, then it was time for me to leave. Mum drove me to school on my first day, it was alluring to watch people in similar attire like mine chatting, laughing and walking towards the direction where we were headed. We pulled up outside what has to be the most exquisite school I have ever seen with my own eyes, like those one children on Jennifer Lopez or the Queen would go to. I opened the door and walked outside the car out and when I looked up, all I could notice was everybody's eyes trained on me and mum's car. I put my head down and with a final wave to my mother, made my way to the front office for my schedule and locker key. Just as I walked out of the office and trying not mug up the directions for the first three classes of the day, I harshly bumped into someone muscular and tall, somebody I could never fathom meeting again. He gripped onto my arm tightly, in turn steadying me from what might have been a nasty fall and made me the laughing stock on my first day.
