I just stood there embarrassed as my mum came in and closed the door staring at us with a huge smile on her face. I dropped down from Aiden and ran to my mum. I've missed her so much. As I wrapped my arms around her I noticed she gave Aiden a look as if pleading with him not to say anything. Wonder what that was about.

"Mum, why didn't you tell me you were coming home"? I asked with a small tear coming loose.

"I wanted to surprise you, but I see you were busy", she smiled at me then looked to Aiden.

I didn't know how to introduce Aiden to my mum, I didn't know what he wanted us to be, hell, I didn't know. Just as I was about to speak. Aiden stepped forward with his hand out. "Mrs Thomas, I'm Aiden. Linas boyfriend." I almost choked at that. Boyfriend, but he didn't ask me to be his girlfriend, I will need to speak to him about that. So all I did was smile and nod. 

"Sophie please, and it's Ms Thomas". She looked to me, "boyfriend?, Lina sweetie you never told me you had a boyfriend" my mum gave me a small smile.

"Em, yeah. it just kind of happened mum, there was nothing to tell" I simply told her the truth. Then looked to Aiden who came to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. This made me relax straight away.

"OK, so Aiden, you staying for breakfast"? 

"Sure, I don't have any plans. That alright with you Lina"? I couldn't say anything so I just nodded.

Mum went into the kitchen to make her most delicious pancakes, golden syrup and cream. I stood on the spot until she was out of ear shot and turned to Aiden, "so I'm your girlfriend am I"? I smirked. He looked nervous for a minute but then pulled himself the together, and came towards me. "Yes you are, do you have a problem with that"? he asked. I have never seen this side to Aiden before, being all over confident. I loved it. So instead of answering him, I grabbed his face down to mine for a kiss, before his lips touched mine I said "you're mine", "absolutely" he replied then kissed me. This kiss was not like our first one, this one had more passion in it. I almost forgot that my mum was in the kitchen making breakfast until we heard a throat clear.

"Please continue, I suspect you didn't hear me shouting that breakfast was ready" she laughed. "Come on" I mumbled to Aiden, who replied with a groan because my mum interrupted us again for the second time this morning. 

We all sat down to breakfast with a little bit of chit chat about school and mums job, which she is loving. she told me that she is only here for the night as her work is putting her on a flight to Washington. Our day never consisted of anything special, talking and chilling out by the pool. Aiden couldn't believe how big our house was, that got me thinking about what he said at school. Was it because of the house and my car? I decided to tell him about my mum working in accounts then hopefully he understands how mum could afford a house like this.

"So, that is why we can afford to stay in a place this like this". I said. I looked at him, and he was looking at me with a look I could not place. He didn't say anything so I kept going."So really, those things you said about me are not true, there is more to my past Aiden, and I will tell you but... not right now" I whispered. 

"It's OK, I get it". He reached out and grabbed my hand. "There are things about myself that I am not ready to share with you either, but the time will come for the both of us". He was still stroking my hand and I was finding it hard to concentrate, he was sending shivers through my body. I couldn't hold back anymore, I jumped at him. It took him a few seconds to wrap his arms around me and kiss me back. It was so good kissing Aiden, I could do it all day. And then we got interrupted again, but by my phone this time. I got up to answer the text, I read the text..

Unknown number - Hello Lina, I bet you thought you could escape from me, I don't think so. Be safe my darling daughter. You can't hide forever. I will be seeing you soon. Love Daddy 

I dropped my phone to the floor after reading it. He's coming for me, What am I going to do. Wait, how did he get my number? It's only my friends, Aiden and mum who have my number. Then one thought came to me 'mum'. Then all I remember is me falling to floor.

I remember when my dad used to be so loving, there was this one day I was 4. I remember so clearly that it was like it happened yesterday. It was a sunny day so mum and dad decided to take me to the park, they brought a picnic with us. They even brought my favourite ice cream it was Ben and Jerry's caramel and chocolate chunks. I remember playing on the shute and some of the sand at the bottom had dissapeard and when I was coming down the shute to the bottom and landed on the grou d I fell over and skint my knee. My dad came over and picked me up and kissed my knee better. 

"Let's go home and I will cook your favourite dinner. Macaroni cheese" he smiled down at me.

"Thank you daddy. I love you" I said and took the hand that he was holding out fir me to takr.

"Love you too peanut" this was a really goodmemory of my dad before he started getting violent with me but that's another story.

"Lina, Lina wake up baby"I heard my mum sob. "Come on Lina, wake up" that was Aidens voice. I felt a hand in mine and gave a small squeeze to let them know that I can hear them. I think it must have been about 10 minutes later when I heard arguing.

"You have to tell her Sophie, she deserves to know" 

"I know Aiden, I will tell her soon. It's not going to be easy telling her that I have been lying to her all these years. You only know because of your mum, otherwise you would have never of found out either. I don't want this life for her". 

"Yes, well I think the time has come today. You seen that text, you have to prepare her". 

"I know, I know"

"Mum" I whispered

"I'm here baby, can you sit up"? 

"I've got you" a soft voice said from the side of me, I looked into the eyes of my boyfriend, 'ha boyfriend, I've never said that before' I was having a small chuckle to myself when I looked up at my mum, she had a worried expression on her face. I wonder what's going on and what was that argument about? My mum made her way over to me slowly. Aiden looked at my mum and she nodded.

"I'm going to go home, let you two talk. Will text you later" Aiden came over and gave me a kiss, not to long as mum was standing there.

"You don't have to go Aiden, and anyway, you know more about what is going on then I do" I said looking between him and my mum.

"Wha.. what, how. How do you know"? he asked me.

"I'm quite observant when I want to be" was my reply. "So spill, what's going on"? 

"Well, first thing, I'm so sorry but I have been lying to you about where I work. I'm an FBI profiler and we have been looking for your dad", mum said this so quick that I don't really think she actually said that. But the silence told me it was true. I looked to Aiden wondering what his involvement in this. I never got the chance to ask as he spoke first.

"I know your mum Lina, this morning was not the first time we met. Your mum is a collegue of my mum, and your mum was around at my house when she was home the last time. They were working on a way to draw your dad out.

I was totally speechless, I couldn't think straight. Why would she lie to me, I always wondered why my mums work would send her away on business trips, this happened to regularly so there was my first clue that she wasn't an accountant. My mum spoke again before I could say anything, and I was not expecting what she said next to come out her mouth.

"Aiden is going to be staying with you while I go and work, to make sure that nothing happens to you".

"And how do you expect him to protect me from dad" I looked to Aiden, "I'm not saying that you can't do it, cause I know you will do anything to keep me safe". He looked at me with a sad smile.

What the actual hell, he will not be able to keep me safe from my pyscho dad. I know what he is capable of and if he wants me he will find a way to get me. I looked between my mum and Aiden with tears in my eyes. I can't believe they lied to me, how do they think I could protect myself when I have absolutely no clue as to what is going on. I wiped my tears and ran up to my room, I just wanted to be alone.
