There was a blinding light and an excruciating pain in her neck when Camila found herself waking up the following morning and she couldn't tell which was more irritating at the moment. She had one arm draped above her head and the other dangling over the edge of the couch. Part of her leg felt numb and she struggled to open her eyes.
She tried to blink a couple times, pushing her hair away from her face before realizing there was an abnormal weight on half of her body, preventing her from moving. And just as she was about to push away from it there was a low mumbling that finally made her open her eyes.
"Stop moving," her roommate's voice was hoarse and exhausted but still managed to sound annoyed. Camila looked down at Lauren's sleeping form partially covering her left side with her head laid against the edge of her chest. The rest of her was wedged between Camila and the back of the couch while her legs were on top of hers.
"What the hell..." she mumbled—to herself, mostly—rubbing her eyes some more. She was still in her sweater with her hood pulled up over her head and her yoga pants and Lauren was still in the same t-shirt and joggers from the night before. They had made it through the remainder of the first part of the final Harry Potter movie and the entirety of the second part afterwards but she couldn't remember when her eyes finally shut or how they ended up practically tangled in each other. "When did we even fall asleep?"
"I don't know," she said into the fabric of her sweater, completely unfazed by their current position and her voice still groggy. "But I also don't care. I need like ten more minutes of quiet."
"Lauren, come on, I have to get up."
"That sounds like a personal problem." She shifted and turned her head to the other side, facing the couch, and tucked her arm underneath it. Camila rolled her eyes and brought both of her hands down to shove the green eyed girl off of her. She landed on the floor clumsily, taking the haphazardly thrown blanket down with her. "Ow, fuck."
"That was for touching my boobs," she told her cheekily as she watched Lauren not even bother to get up. She turned over onto her back and glared at her roommate.
"The one time I sleep comfortably on that couch and I get rudely awaken. The nerve..."
"I'm glad I could serve as your pillow but unfortunately my neck and back are in knots and we have a psych lecture in like half an hour."
"Psych lecture can lick a tit. I'm going back to bed." She remained still lying on the floor and Camila rolled her eyes again just as Lauren shut hers. When she got up from the couch she immediately felt a hand wrap around her ankle and she fell to the ground with a loud yelp.
"What was that for?"
"Because I felt like it," she mumbled lazily with an amused smile on her lips. Camila shook her head and lightly kicked the girl in her side before getting up again. She grabbed the pillow from the couch that she had been sleeping on and chucked it at Lauren's face forcefully. "Hey!"
"Get up you dingbat, you're not skipping class."
"Listen, just because you have a strangely cozy set of boobies does not mean you can all of a sudden boss me around," she told her matter-of-factly but Camila couldn't seem to do anything but roll her eyes...again.
"Your thinly veiled compliments aren't going to work. And I absolutely can boss you around since you agreed to allow me to do just that."
"I literally never did such a thing."
"Yes you did. Now get the hell up and get to class."
"Who are you, my mother?"
"No but consider this part of our deal. Doing your school work and actually passing and graduating is officially on the agenda," she informed her, knowing full well that bringing up the agreement they had would convince Lauren to do pretty much anything she said, even if it was reluctantly. She groaned from her spot on the floor and threw the pillow back at Camila.
