HOUSE OF HADES

Chapter 2

Annika almost cries from the pressure and stress Elayna is putting on her.
"What is going on here?" The House Headmaster, Victor, enters.
He has slicked back dark hair and is old. He can be mean at times.
"Where's Sami?!" Elayna exclaims.
"Her parents arrived at the school earlier today and removed her." Victor explains.
"Then why didn't she say goodbye?!"
"It was very urgent and she didn't have time to. She probably wasn't even to call anyone yet and tell them."
"That doesn't make any sense!"
"I found this on the bed." Annika shows them Sami's phone.
"I'll deliver it to her." He takes it and leaves.
Elayna glares at Annika and storms out.

"I can't believe she left." Jamal says when Elayna tells everyone about Sami in the living room.
"And they already have a new girl here to replace her!" Elayna argues.
"That's really weird." Savanna says.
"I bet the new girl is behind this!" Elayna continues.
"Who is the new girl, anyway?" Hunter asks.
"Her name is Annika. She mentioned that she was new like 100 times!"
"Is she hot?" Tyler asks.
Everyone laughs.
Annika enters.
"Hi!" She says. "I'm Annika. I'm new here!"
"Make that 101 times!" Elayna says.
"Hey." Jamal says to Annika.
"Hi." Annika smiles.
"Dinner's ready!" The House maid, Trudy, shouts.
She has dark, short, curly hair and brown skin. She's very cheerful and sweet.
Everyone sits at the table.
"So, when are you gonna tell us what you know about Sami's disappearance?" Elayna asks Annika.
"I guess when I actually know something." Annika says.
"I know you're behind this! And so does everyone else!" Elayna shouts.
"I don't care what you think, so please just shut up already!" Annika remarks.
Elayna gets up and goes to her. "What did you just say?"
"Oh no." Danya says.
"Take cover!" Mark gets down.
Elayna pours milk all over Annika.
"Elayna!" Jamal shouts.
Annika runs out of the room.
"Why are you siding with her?!" Elayna asks Jamal. "Sami was your girlfriend!"
"But she left! Stop making it into a mystery because it's not! And stop blaming Annika for it." Jamal leaves.
He goes out in the hallway and sees Annika crying.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"No!" Tears fall from her eyes. "It's my first day and everyone hates me!"
"Not everyone." Jamal smiles at her.
She smiles back.

Jamal goes to his room.
Mark goes to him. "Were you with the new girl?"
"Yeah."
"You guys are already hitting it off!"
"It's not like that! I didn't even get over Sami yet!"
"Sure......"

Elayna goes to Victor.
"Sami still hasn't called me!" She complains.
"I delivered the phone, so I don't know what else to do." Victor explains.
"Ugh!" Elayna storms out.

That night, Victor does his usual curfew phrase.
"You have 5 minutes precisely and then I want to be able to hear a pin drop!" He shouts.
He drops the pin and hears it.
Meanwhile, Mark goes to Danya and Savanna's room.
"Mark! What're you doing here?!" Danya asks.
"I came to see Savanna." He explains.
Mark turns to Savanna.
"I'm failing my classes. I need your help, could you tutor me?"
"Sure!" Savanna smiles.
"Why didn't you ask me?!" Danya asks.
"Savanna has a higher GPA."
"It doesn't matter!"
"It's fine!" Mark leaves.
"Don't be jealous." Savanna says.
"I'm not!" Danya looks away.

Elayna goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth, and sees writing in the steam on the mirror;
'HELP ME!'
