Chapter 11

At the party, Jamal goes to Annika.
"Do you want to dance?" He asks.
"Uh, sure!" Annika blushes. "But I'm not a good dancer."
"Please! I'm probably worse!" They laugh.
Victor comes.
"Everyone who does not live in this house, leave NOW!" Victor shouts.
Everyone scatters out.
Leaving the 8 students left.
"One of you went up to the attic tonight." Victor smirks. "I set up a paper in the attic door, so if the door was opened it would fall. And it did! So, who was it?!"
Tyler comes in a deer head.
"I'm a party animal!" He jokes.
Everyone laughs.
"Get out of that now!" Victor exclaims.
Tyler tries to get out, but is stuck.
"I'm stuck!" He yells out.
Victor drags him to his office.

In Victor's office, Victor tries to pull of the deer head.
Trudy rushes in.
"Victor! You'll hurt him!" She exclaims. "Let me do it!"
Annika crawls in the hallway to the door to the office and puts the attic key in front of the door.
She runs away.

"I just put it back!" Annika tells the others.
"He'll know it was still one of us." Elayna says.
"You guys have to back me up!" Annika pleads.
"Why should we cover for you?" Hunter asks.
Jamal steps up. "Because you're the ones that got her in this mess in the first place! Making her steal the key!"
Victor enters with the key.
"Very clever. Who did it?" He shouts.
Everyone stays silent.
Annika sighs. "I did it."
"No!" Jamal says. "She's covering for me."
Annika smiles.
"No, actually!" Mark says. "It was me."
"Actually," Savanna says,"It was me."
"No." Danya shakes. "It was me."
"The truth is," Elayna says,"It was me. I totally love stealing keys. You know, for fun."
Elayna smiles at Annika.
"Hunter? I know I can rely on you." Victor says.
"It was me." Hunter cringes.
"Agh! Go to your rooms now!" Victor shouts.
Everyone laughs and scatters away.

During lunch break at school, Annika and Jamal go to the artifact shop Jamal's uncle works at.
"Jamal?! Is that you?!" His uncle comes.
"Hey, Uncle Ade!" Jamal smiles.
"Is this your girlfriend?" He gestures to Annika.
"No! No! We're- uh- we're just friends." Jamal blushes.
"Oh, alright. What is it that you'd like?"
"We brought you some artifacts. Could you decipher them for us?" Jamal asks.
Jamal hands him the cylinders and golden jewel.
"Ah, yes. These cylinders are recordings for an Edison Phonograph."
"There's one of those in the attic!" Annika exclaims.
"What about the jewel?" Jamal asks.
"I don't know. It looks like some sort of puzzle."

At school, Danya and Mark walk together.
"I'm so glad we're back together." Mark smiles.
"Yeah. I did miss you." Danya smiles.
They hold hands.
Savanna sees and walks away.
She goes to Elayna.
"Hey, Elayna."
"Gotta run!" Elayna hurries.
"What? Why?" Savanna asks.
"I forgot my Math book at the House!" Elayna runs to Hades House.

At the House, Elayna overhears Victor talking to the police officer that contacted Sami.
She eavesdrops.
"Does Elayna believe that Sami is fine?" The officer asks.
"Yes. Elayna is finally out of our way." Victor smirks.
Elayna shivers.
"What about Sami?" The officer asks.
"Sami is out of our way, also. She's finally been buried." Victor grins.
