HOUSE OF HADES

Chapter 6

Annika runs into a wall and the wall turns around and she's in a secret room.
Victor enters the attic and doesn't see anyone.
He rolls his eyes and leaves.

Out in the hallway, Jamal and Danya meet up.
"Why are you here?" Danya asks.
"To help Annika!" Jamal replies.
"That's what I'm doing." She says.
The attic door opens and Victor comes out.
Jamal and Danya hide in the bathroom.
Victor goes back to his office.
Jamal and Danya go to Elayna's room.
"Elayna!" Jamal whispers. "Where's the attic key?"
"I threw it out of the window." She says.
"What?!" Danya gasps.
"Annika doesn't deserve to be let out!" Elayna lays back down.
Jamal and Danya leave.

Annika tries to get out of the pitch black secret room, which is nothing but stone.
Her locket starts glowing.
She sees the Hades symbol on the wall and puts her locket on it.
The secret door opens.
Annika runs out, the secret door starts closing again and she turns back.
But runs out when she sees a girl watching her from the secret room.

Jamal and Danya go to the attic door.
"How do we open it?" Jamal asks.
"I don't know!" Danya says.
The door opens and Annika comes out.
"You scared us!" Jamal whispers.
"Sorry!" Annika closes the door.
"How did you get out?" Danya asks.
"With a bobby pin." Annika smiles.
"Smart!" Jamal acknowledges.
"Well, we should get to bed. I'll tell you guys everything later!" Annika goes to her room.

The next morning, everyone applauds Annika when she arrives at breakfast.
"Bravo!" Tyler cheers.
"You did well." Hunter says.
"Thanks." Annika smiles.
"Did you bring something back, like you were supposed to?" Elayna glares at her.
"Yep." She takes out an old book.
Everyone applauds.
"Ugh, whatever." Elayna storms out.

Annika walks to school.
Jamal catches up to her. "Can I walk with you?"
"Sure!"
"Wait!" Jamal goes into the bushes under Elayna's window.
"Um..... You okay?" Annika asks.
"Yeah!" Jamal comes out with the attic key. "I've got it!"
Annika takes it. "Yes! I need this for when I go back!"
"Wait, you're going back?! Why?!"
"There was a secret room. It was pitch black, so I didn't see anything. And I didn't see the girl that was in there with me."
"There was a girl?! Who was it?!"
"What did Sami look like?"
"She had blonde hair and blue eyes, like you." Jamal explains.
"I think Sami was the girl in the attic." Annika says. "I have to go back."
"If you're going back, then I'm coming with you."
"This is my problem."
"But you can trust me. I promise."

At school, Tyler and Hunter talk.
"It was amazing." Tyler says, talking about the kiss with Danya.
"You like her?" Hunter asks.
"I guess so."
"I bet she likes you back!"
"How do we know that?!"
"I have a plan." Hunter smirks.

In the hallway, Elayna and Savanna talk.
"No one cares about Sami anymore." Elayna cries.
"I do! She was my friend, too!" Savanna reasons.
"I just want my best friend back!" Elayna runs to the bathroom.

In class, Danya goes to Mark.
"Hey." She smiles.
He ignores her and walks away.
"Wow." Danya rolls her eyes.

In the bathroom, Elayna throws her bag at the wall and a tile comes off.
There is a peephole there.
She looks through it and sees Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Andrews talking.
"Elayna is still worried about Sami. What if she finds out?" Mr. Sweet says.
"She can't know what's going on! There's too much at stake!" Mrs. Andrews says.
Elayna gasps.
