Chapter 18

They walked on each side of me in silence and I couldn’t help but wonder what was going to happen now. Was he finally going to use me for something and not waste my time or was he going to just annoy me again?

“What’s his name anyway?” I asked as the doors to his “office” came in sight.

“Delgado,” Devon answered. I snorted.

“Delgado? Really? Gosh, no wonder he has an ego bigger than the planet itself,” I muttered.

“Arianna, if he chooses to hear you, he won’t be nice later,” Lucas mumbled, reaching out for the door and as he pushed it open, I braced myself for the news.

“Arianna!” The man, Delgado, said as if delighted. I still thought his name was too ironic for him since I always felt like only the bad guys could have the name Delgado or anything similar to that.

“Yes?” I asked him with a bored expression. “Are you going to tell me what this is all about now?”

“Maybe, maybe not!” he said, laughing his annoying fake-laugh. “First, I want to introduce you to someone!”

I looked at Devon and at Lucas who kept their eyes straight ahead but Devon glanced at me quickly. I knew they didn’t want to seem so “friendly” in front of their “master” or Alpha or whatever he was, so I understood but what I didn’t understand was why on earth I was going to meet someone in the middle of this all.

“Well, go on, bring in the boy,” Delgado said to two guards on his side, waving dismissively with his hand. They nodded, walking quickly out of the room.

“Can you at least tell me when I can go home?” I asked, sighing. I knew I should be more afraid and honestly, I was afraid and nervous but at the same time I couldn’t help but feel this extreme boredom and irritation that took over. I was secretly glad for that because I didn’t think of what could really happen to me when I kept mocking everyone and being a pain in the ass.

“Who said you were going home, my dear?” Delgado said, grinning like a psychopath.

“Are you serious? Are you aware of the fact that once my mate finds you, he’ll rip you and your stupid guards to shreds?” I said, my voice louder. “And he won’t come alone, if that’s what you think.”

Delgado gave a loud laugh that clearly sent me the message that he was mocking me like hell.

“Oh, sweet Arianna. You are just like your parents!”

“How many times do I need to tell you to leave my parents out of this, you idiotic maniac?!” I snapped, glaring at him with all my might. Devon and Lucas looked back at me with wide eyes and Devon discreetly slapped my arm.
