alexander kisses people.

but he doesn't do it romantically- oh, no, alexander is so scared because someone decided they were entitled to his body at nine years old and ruined him.

but alexander kisses people when he loves them, because he thinks it means affection and he doesn't know how to show it without disappearing in glazed eyes and clutched fingertips.

so he kisses them.

alexander brushed my lips today, and i smiled and pressed another kiss back at him, and it's our way of saying you're alright, because i have seen him cry and ramble and babble senseless when he is so afraid that those hands touching his cheeks aren't mine, and i have heard him choke on sobs and heard him scream.

but i have heard him say i love you, and he kisses his friends, because that is affection and any affection is lovely, and it's coming from alexander.

i love him too.
