Yona's POV:

That fool, he got himself hurt again. But this time it was badly! He can't even get up, he is all wrapped up in bandages.

I couldn't even help him, he did this for me and now he is suffering badly.

I was walking around the forest, I was hunting for food. I spotted a squirrel, I aimed my bow and arrow carefully.

My crimson hair got in my eyes, and my mind was buzzing with worry.

Hak...

I let my arrow fly, it missed the little animal by a few inches.

"How sloppy" I muttered to myself.

"You're right, that was kinda awful" someone snickered behind me. I recognized Yoon's voice as I turned to look at him. He was leaning against a tree smirking at me

"Shouldn't you be looking after Hak" I said, my voice strained with stress. I stood up, running a hand through my hair as I sheathed my bow.

"He will be fine, knowing him he will be up at dinner looking for food" Yoon paused, his voice getting softer "You really care about him don't you"

I snapped my gaze to his, he looked away quickly

"What is that supposed to mean. Of course I care about him, he is my protector I need hi..." I broke off. "How bad is it" I asked quickly

Yoon walked over to me, he took my bag of meat and put a hand on my shoulder looking at me carefully.

"He got stabbed Yona, it was really close to his heart but I'm sure he will be ok" Yoon said, he smiled and led me back to the campsite.

"Why did the fireclan attack us so viciously, they did it once before and learned their lesson so why this time? Did they not know we have dragons on our side?" I mused as we got to the firepit

"Not sure" Yoon said quietly, I looked around and saw Kija hanging of a branch looking at the ground warily

Bugs. Of all the things a dragon could be scared of it would be bugs.

I looked around more and saw Hak's sleeping form on the ground, he was wrapped in red stained bandages around his chest and around one of his eyes.

"Yona its getting to be evening, you should eat something and rest" Kija said, he had come down from his tree and had come over to me.

I looked up from Hak and into Kija's eyes, "ok" I said quietly. Why am I so crazy, I am so worried. I walked over to the fire pit and took a bowl of food.

"Thank you Yoon." I said, soon the others had all gathered around. A lot of them had bandages around their arms and legs.

"Everyone I am sorry" I said standing, Shin-Ah frowned at me as I walked off. I could feel them all exchanging confused glances.

"Leave her" I heard Yoon mutter to someone. I was grateful for the alone time. I still had my food as I found myself at a little pond enshrouded in trees.

I sat down near the edge of the water. I looked over the water, thoughts running through my head. I neglected my food.

Why should I eat when Hak...when he is so hurt.

I bowed my head, tears stinging at my eyes. I thought back to what Yoon had said to me earlier that day

"it was really close to his heart but I'm sure he will be ok"

You sounded so uncertain...

"You know, you should eat" I jumped, causing some of my food to spill as I heard the deep voice of Hak

I whipped around, but as I was doing that Hak sat down beside me. I stared at him in amazement, I hadn't even heard him walking up behind me

"What the heck are you doing out here?! You should be resting are you crazy you are hurt I-" A soft hand covered my mouth from rambling on more, I looked up and saw Hak's bright blue eyes. They were very intense. I froze up

"I'm fine Princess" He said, he removed his hand and took the food from my hands. "it's getting cold, you should eat it now" I relaxed as he set the food down on the ground

I shook my head, looking away from his eyes and towards the water, "I'm not hungry thank you" I said in a small voice

A silence followed

"You know you had me so worried you fool" I said through gritted teeth, I saw him look over at me in surprise from the corner of my eye

"You were?" He said, surprise edged in his voice

I looked at him "Of course! I.." I broke off and looked back at the water, I put my knees up to my chin burying my head in my arms as I rested on my legs

"You what" Hak said, his voice had changed, it was much softer than I was used to. I froze up at his tone, my heart pounding a million miles an hour.

"...I couldn't protect you" I said, not looking at him as I moved, resting my cheek on my arms. A warm breeze flowed over us and my hair moved away from my face

I felt his hand go under my chin, my eyes widened as he made me look at him. He was very close to me, I could feel his breath wash over me. I didn't dare look at his eyes so I looked at his chest

"You don't need to protect me Princess" He said softly into my ear, I looked at his wound trying to ignore the fact all the hair on my neck stood up from a shiver

"Oh Hak, what have you done to yourself.." I rested my hand lightly on his chest, running my fingers over his heart where the stab wound was too close too.

His hand went over mine and I looked up at him in shock, his hands were so soft for a warrior. I looked at his eyes and I felt like it was the best mistake I could have made in that moment

Some of his black hair was covering his eyes, I moved it out of the way slowly. I was almost annoyed that his hair wouldn't let me see his eyes

"Princess.." He said very quietly before his lips connected with mine, he pulled me closer as we kissed. I kissed back quickly, our lips moving in perfect sync. His scent washed over me, he smelled like honey and grass. I couldn't think in that moment as my hands went to his face puling him even closer

My heart exploded, it felt like fire was burning through my body as we kissed. His hand snaked around my back, and he turned his body towards me more as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I was sat between his long legs as the kiss lasted even longer, his hand ran through my short crimson hair.

My head spun as I broke off the kiss, I gasped for air as I tried to focus my eyes. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder

He laughed quietly, "You don't know how long I have waited to do that" He said to me

I laughed at him and we both laughed like love-sick fools

He kissed me quickly again, caressing my cheeks slowly.

"Thank you Princess"
