I wake up, its 8:56. Lin was gonna be here around noon to drop me off at the theater before the matinee. I open on YouTube and watch a couple Ham4Hams, and nurses came into check on me once in a while, change my IV, monitor my heartbeat and lungs, check my stitches, those kinds of things. At one point, I fell asleep and was awoken by Lin lightly shaking my shoulder and saying, "Come on Elizabeth, don't you want to go home?"
"I'm up, I'm up," I say as I start to sit up.
"I picked up a pair of clothes for you, I'll let you get changed while I sign your discharge papers," He says while walking out.
I grab the clothes he picked up, it was a "Waitress" shirt, a pair of jean shorts, and black converse. I crutch into the bathroom, then put my clothes on, and put my messy hair into a messy bun. I gather all of my stuff, and meet Lin at the nurses station. "And you're good to go," I heard the nurse say as I crutch over.
"You ready to go sweetheart?" Lin said while putting his arm around me, and I smile and nod at him. The same nurse came over behind me with a wheelchair, I hand Lin my crutches and I sit down. They walk and I get wheeled down to the car, and I thank the nurse for wheeling me down. Lin walks around to the other side of the car to get in, while I hop in the car and throw my crutches in the back seat. "It feels good to have you back," Lin tells me
"It feels good to be back," I say with a soft smile.
We ride back to the theater, and Lin drops me off since he wasn't in the show because it was Sunday. When I crutch in through the stage door, I was engulfed in a big hug from most of the cast.
"We missed you," Leslie says.
"I missed you guys too," I say with a tear falling down my cheek.
"Don't cry, why are you crying?" Alysha tells me.
"Nobody have ever cared this much about me in so long," I tell them as I start to cry.
"Don't cry," Oak tells me while giving me a hug, and for being a tall, muscly man, he was very good at hugs.
"I should go get some rest, thank you guys," I say as I crutch towards the stairs. I stand in front of the stairs trying to figure out the best way to get up them in the least amount of time.
Oak, Daveed, and Anthony come towards the stairs to get to their dressing rooms and see me just standing there, "You okay kid?" Anthony asks me.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get up the stairs in the least amount of time," I say while still looking at the stairs.
"Oh," Daveed says.
There was silence for a minute while we all stare at the stairs. "Hey, do you want me to carry you up?" Oak asks.
"Yes, please," I say nodding. I pass Daveed my crutches, and Oak scoops me up to carry me up to my room. "Thank you," I tell Oak, while Daveed passes me my crutches.
"No problem," Oak says, "now go get some rest."
I crutch into my room, slip off my shoe because I have a cast on my other foot, and fall asleep in my nice and cozy bed.
I wake up when I hear the opening chords of "Alexander Hamilton" and I smile. I love it here. I think about going downstairs to socialize, but then I realize how to get down there requires going downstairs. Staying in my room is pretty good actually. I hop over to my dresser, and grab my beats. I plug them into my phone, and turn on my Broadway playlist. I then load up Twitter, and scroll through my feed, and tweet- "@elizabethrose_ 'it feels good to be back.'" I listen to my playlist for about an hour before I decide to just listen to show and work on my algebra homework. I finish my homework, and start to get hungry. I don't have any snacks in my room and start to get up, then I realize I could text someone. "hey, groff? do you think you could bring me a snack?" I send him.
"You like gummy worms , right?" He sends to me a couple minutes later.
"YES!!" I reply. A few minutes later, Groff comes up in full King George attire with a bag of gummy worms to hand to me. "Thank you Mr. King," I say to him while taking the gummy worms.
"Wait, if I am the King, why I am serving you?" he asks.
"Don't you have a show to do?" I ask with a laugh.
"Touche," he says before leaving.
"Thank you," I yell to him as he walks down the hallway.
"You're welcome," he yells back.
I decide to watch Jessie Mueller's vlogs, which are my favorite videos in all of the internet. She just so funny, and pretty, and talented. By the time I finish the vlogs, the show is over, and people stop by to say goodbye.
Jazzy, Pippa, and Renee stop by room, and Pippa asks, "We are gonna order pizza, do you want some?"
"Of course!" I exclaim.
"What kind of pizza do you want?" Renee asks me.
"Pepperoni is fine with me," I reply.
"I'll go order it, let me go get my phone," Renee says while walking down the hall to her dressing room I assume.
Jazzy and Pippa come in and sit on my bed. "We can just eat in here," I suggest.
"Are you sure?" Pippa asks me.
"I don't care. Honestly it's better than going down the stairs," I joke.
"You have Netflix right?" Jazzy says to me.
"Yeah, it's hooked up to my TV," I tell her while pointing to the TV mounted on the wall.
"The pizza should be here in ten," Renee informs us.
I bring Netflix up for Jazzy, and she can't find a movie she likes so I suggest "Waitress". I tell Pippa where it was, and how to set it up, and she starts the movie. Renee goes down to get the pizza when the delivery guy gets here, and we watch the movie while we eat our pizza.
We finish the movie, and the girls head home. I finally go downstairs- which took five minutes down and up- to get a trash bag so I can shower and not ruin my cast.
I shower, then put my hair into a low ponytail, take the trash bag off, slip into a pair of pajamas and go to sleep.
