"Don't be mad, but I'm really nervous to go to your house. I'm afraid I'm gonna get trampled over as soon as I walk through the door." Elise exclaimed. She walked around my daycare room, spritzing surfaces and toys with bleach water. Sometimes, to make some extra cash, I'll let her come clean the room for a quick twenty dollars. She's grateful for it and so am I.

Snorting, I rolled my eyes, "He's not a savage, Elle and he actually stays to himself most of the time. Zedlin, in a weird way, is a polite bad boy."

"Weird," she put away her cleaning utensils as I cut off the lights, "I didn't think those existed." Her confusion threw us into fits of giggles and we left he room, with my house as our destination.

It's been about three weeks of living with Zedlin and nothing has changed much. Well, except for the fact that my mother watches over everyone like a hawk. David has been trying to gain Zedlin's trust back by giving him any and everything his heart could desire after being incarcerated for so long. That first few days of him being in our house, I had came back from work and he was tapping excessively on a cell phone. Just went to show how somethings come naturally, cause it looked like he had the phone for years.

Somewhere in the pit of my gut, it annoyed me that he already had people to talk to -- or should I say a person. I knew he was talking to that girl from the clothing store about two weeks ago. I keep telling myself that he's a grown man, perfectly capable of having girl friends, but it still bothered me. I knew the sour feeling in my gut was jealousy and it made me question my sanity.

Was it alright to kind of find my stepfathers son attractive? We weren't blood related, so could I catch a break? Get a pass?

I tried to stay focus on the road as I drove towards home with Elise trailing me in her own car, but it was so hard. Every time I wasn't working, I found myself thinking about being at home to witness what he'd be doing. It was probably getting creepy, but I couldn't stop myself.

Finally, I pulled up into my driveway with Elise parking behind me. I took a few calming breaths, before climbing out of my car.

"Holy shit. I am nervous. Do I look nervous? Cause you know I get sweaty and ugly when I'm nervous." Elle babbled.

"Elle?" I called.

"Yeah?"

"Shut it. Now." I rolled my eyes and resisted laughing as she nodded fervently in agreement that she indeed needed to shut it.

We walked into the garage door that I opened and up to the door leading into the house, and neither of us were prepared for the string of colorful language painting the atmosphere of the kitchen.

"Look, I don't give a fuck. Point. Blank. Period. When I see him, I'm busting his balls, because we all know it's been way too long and that motherfucker needs to get his. It's been a long motherfucking time coming and real talk, I'm not over shit that went down."

Zedlin paced the kitchen while jabbing a finger in the air, back currently turned to us and I gazed at it a little longer than necessary, before looking over my shoulder to find Elise doing the exact same. In the next moment, Zedlin turned around and stopped mid sentence.

"When you see that motherfucker, tell him that I--"

Hazel eyes swung up from my feet, to my own eyes and just by his gaze I felt naked. Coming to my senses, I found a small smile to give him.

"Uh, hey..."

Awkward.

Zedlin cleared his throat, "Lemme call you back." Pulling his phone away from his face, he ducked his head at us. "Hey, Sienna. Sorry about that, I lost track of the time."
