I was feeling kind of bad for ditching Zedlin on his birthday a few days ago, but I had to stay strong.

Even though my dirty mind was telling me that I could have at least gave him a quick BJ or something.

I always got weak when it came to him. He was like a baby I couldn't say no to, but he wasn't a baby.

And I could and did say no. I was stronger than I gave myself credit for.

My hands placed two buckets of crayons onto the table where my kiddos were sitting with their coloring pages. They were coloring leaves for our fall themed classroom.

For some reason my heart swelled just watching them all concentrate on coloring the leaves. Children could be a lot, but at the end of the day they were a blessing and every single one of them were gonna grow up to be their own person and it just fascinated me to sit back and think about the types of people they could become.

I sighed softly and tried to dial back the smile on my face some. It was amazing just to be so in love with my job.

My day in the playroom went fast, as my last kid was picked up. With a smile and a wave the door closed, leaving me alone to finish tidying the room before I headed out.

I placed the buckets of crayons into the supply closet and then grabbed my spray bottle of bleach water and started disinfecting all of the toys and surfaces.

While I was moving toys around in the toy bin to insure they were all getting cleaned, the door to my playroom opened and closed softly.

"Sienna, please don't be afraid. I just want to talk." The painfully familiar voice said to me.

My entire body stiffened and I honestly felt as if I could pìss myself from being so scared.

I stood upright and whipped around, clutching my spray bottle tightly.

Mason looked horrible.

His hair was longer and sticking up everywhere, looking as if he didn't even bother washing it. Eyes were like two sunken blue pools in his head, surrounded by dark bags. His lips were dry and cracked framed by his stubbly mouth and his nose was wrapped up with what looked like a splint in it.

During my silent observation, Mason took that as a reason to step further into the room. I held out my spray bottle like a weapon.

"Don't come any closer or I'll spray you in the fùcking eyes with bleach. I'm not playing with you, Mason." I threatened.

His eyes widened, either from my hostility or from my language.

I watched him throw his hands up in a surrendering way, but stepped back until he was pressed against the door.

"Okay, I'll stay right here. Just, hear me out. I first and foremost want to start off by apologizing. I know you haven't been reading my messages and I don't blame you. I hate myself more and more every day for putting my hands on you. Having to think back and remember how I hurt you, it eats away at my soul." He said softly, clenching his hands into fists before relaxing them again.

My heart was thumping so fast, it could've leaped out of my chest.

"Good," I said quickly, "Now, get out."

Mason frowned, "Sienna, wait. That's not all. I... I'm miserable without you. I miss you like crazy and I know I betrayed your trust when I laid my hands on you--"

Was this man dumb or stupid?

"Mason, you didn't just hurt me physically, you also hurt me mentally and emotionally. You were sleeping with your cousin behind my back." I reminded him, just in case he forgot.
