the sound of sweet music coming from the vinyl that soothed the brunette who sat on the sofa, a blanket covering him and a cup of coffee in his frail hands, filled the room. his tired eyes looked outside of the window, birds sang choruses to each other. to say he felt safe was something he never thought was possible.

he sighed in content, as jazz sounds rang in his ears. he wasn't afraid of the demons, also known as other humans. he felt at ease knowing the man who had recently entered his life, was going to protect him.

he jumped at the sudden presence of the man he owed so much to. he turned to face the red haired beauty who had sat beside him, only to be greeted with a large grin. the man wrapped his arm around the brunette's shoulder, causing the boy's cheeks to flush a shade of rose.

"you're safe here, tyler." the red haired boy whispered, eyes locked with the boys. he studied his chocolate orbs, the way they sparkled and held so many precious stories. josh wanted to learn about the angelic boy so badly.

"t-thank you, sir. you r-really shouldn't have t-to do t-this." the brunette looked at the cup which contained his only source of energy. josh softly laughed at the boy.

"please, call me josh. and i offered to help you." he rubbed light circles into the boys shoulder with his thumbs.

"if you s-say so, joshua." tyler giggled. the sound alone sent shivers down the mans spine.

"you look like you need rest. i'll sort out your bag and coat, bub." josh pressed a light kiss to the brunette's forehead, making him visibly shudder.

josh slowly stood up, placing a cushion down for the young boy to rest his head on whilst he slept. he gently lowered the boy down, so he lay comfortably on the sofa. the red haired boy watched tylers eyes close, his lips parted ever so slightly as small breaths escaped him. josh couldn't help but stare, he was beautiful.

"you don't have t-to watch me sleep, j-joshua." the boy softly laughed, causing josh to blush this time.

he got up and made his way over to the kitchen, picking up the phone and dialing the number of his assistant. he brought the phone to his ear as his eyes glanced over to the now sleeping boy on his sofa. a voice came from the other end, staring the man.

"sir, how can i help you?"

"you know the bag and coat handed in the other day?" josh spoke quietly, not wanting to wake the peaceful brunette.

"y-yes, sir."

"i have the owner of them here. i need you to delete the file containing the plan, and information. he's innocent." josh smiled as he watched tyler stir in his slumber.

"s-sir. we can't exactly do that. i shared the file with everybody else. you'll have to proceed with the plan. resulting in his death."

"you'll do as i say. i don't recall telling you to share that file. i'm not killing an innocent boy." he snapped, still keeping his voice low.

"what's stopping you this time? you never back out of the plan, sir."

"b-because i..." josh drifted off, realising the truth behind his assistants words. "just fucking do it, get your ass to my house. with the boy's things. or i won't hesitate to kill you."

"o-okay, sir."

"good fucking day." josh hung up, rage building up inside him. he could feel it in his veins.

he wandered into the living room, standing by the window. he tried to control his breathing, in hopes it would calm him down. he wasn't going to kill tyler. it would be a waste of a life. nobody as beautiful as him should have to be killed, his family shouldn't deal with that kind of pain. the family he was yet to find out about.

"j-joshua? you l-look angry. c-come sit." tyler mumbled. josh spun around and saw the boys arms out, motioning for him to sit.

as josh sat beside tyler, he felt the boy rest his head on josh's shoulder. the man placed his hand on the brunettes thigh, a visible shiver along with a gasp came from the boy, causing josh to laugh.

"y-you're comfy." tyler nestled his head in josh's neck, a blush formed on his cheeks as he realised josh was practically a stranger.

"so, tyler. tell me about you." josh relaxed as tyler's breath became slightly wavy.

"i-i'm tyler joseph. nineteen y-years old. i dropped out of s-school a year early t-to help my d-dad with the shop. i-i live alone, in a c-cottage. m-my favorite color is p-pink. you're the only f-friend i have." he mumbled.

"i've never seen your dad. you'll have to introduce me." josh smiled as tyler's quickly dropped.

"m-my dad... um. he d-died three y-years ago. my m-mom left when i was a c-child..."

"oh shit. s-sorry tyler." josh gasped.

"it's okay. t-tell me about y-you." tyler lifted his head up, as both their eyes met.

"i'm twenty, i look after abigail - who's fifteen. we moved here two weeks ago. i work as... i don't know what you would call it. i do illegal things to people who do illegal things." the man chuckled.

"i-is that why y-you asked me about the d-drugs?" tyler smiled.

"yeah. can i ask you another question?"

"of c-course, joshua."

"how come you stutter?" he watched as tyler quickly looked down to his lap. his once shining orbs were dull, filled with sad memories.

"u-um. i'm not really used t-to speaking to people. i n-never really had a-anyone who wanted to hear m-me. m-my voice doesn't really matter. n-nobody payed attention t-to me. t-they would shout at me, and h-hurt me. t-then they would-" the boy was cut off by josh's finger placed over his mouth.

"i care, tyler. i think you are beautiful. your voice is like, angelic to me. don't ever be afraid to speak to me. i'm not like them, bub." josh wiped the tears that had left the brunettes eyes.

he was suddenly tackled by a powerful force that was tyler. his arms were thrown around josh's neck. soft sobs escaped him. the boy lay on top of joshua, crushing him. he smiled at the boys sudden outburst. he didn't push the boy off him, infact, he held the boy close and ran his fingers through the fluffy, brown locks. tyler joseph was doing something to joshua. he was changing as a person. if only he could figure out what that something was.
