Jen POV

It's my birthday today. To be honest I am excited for today. I am getting presents, having a small party and I get to have cake.

Today, I decided to dress a little differently, I wore a loose grey dress, I paired it with black stockings which are a little see through. I wore my silver cat necklace and then finally paired the whole outfit with grey vans. I don't really want to wear my glasses today, I have contact lenses but I never wear them since bullying was at it's worse the one time I wore them.

I get to the kitchen and I am greeted with a chorus of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!"

"Thank you so much!" I say to everyone

"We got you presents!" My mom says

"Thank you" I smile

"Here you go Jen, it's from your father and me" My mom says handing me a box

I unwrap it and open it to reveal a blue two piece dress.

"We thought we would get you a little something for homecoming" dad says

"Thank you" I smile slightly, I haven't told them that I didn't want to go to homecoming but I still show that I am happy

"I got you something too" Ben says

"Ben you didn't have to" I say

"I did" Ben smiles "Go on open it"

"Thank you"

I open the box to reveal a pair of shoes that I saw at the mall a few days ago when I went shopping with Ben.

"Oh my god BEN!" I exclaim and jump on him to hug him "Thank you!"

"Your welcome Nitro!" he chuckles

"Shut up" I laugh

"Hey Nitro, I have a gift for you too" Blaine says "Here you go. Happy Birthday!"

"Thanks"

Blaine hands me a small box, I unwrap it and open the box to be greeted by a silver unicorn ring.

"Blaine..." I whisper

"I know it's not as big as Ben's or mom or dad's gift but-"

I cut him off "No Blaine, I remember I had lost this ring when I was 10 and I was upset and you promised you would find it for me no matter what. Thank you this means a lot" I say and hug him

"It's not the same ring but it's similar" he grins and I nod

"Thanks you guys"

"No problem Jen, you should get going though you don't wanna be late" mom smiles

"Yes, thank you once again" I say and get out the door

It's the same routine at school, I walk fast towards the main doors hugging myself and pulling my sleeves over my hands.

"Hey, it's the birthday girl!" a voice says. Ugh Josh! I turn around to see him standing in front of me with his group

"Leave m-me a-alone" I say softly

"You look lovely today" Josh smirks ignoring my comment "You know what would make you look better?"

"I don't want t-to look b-b-better" I stammer

"Remove your glasses" he says ignoring my comment again

"N-no" I say

"What? Did you say no?" he asks bitterly I look at the ground already regretting this "Jena remove her glasses" he demands
