Falling

Chapter 6

I sighed as I laid on my bed. I had just gotten home from Christmas Break and I was a bit glad since I get to see Katherine, Thomas, and Cedric. Speaking of Thomas. I haven't seen him since the day him and I talked about the rumors of him liking me.

"(Name)! You're back!" Katherine said as she jumped on me. "Ow!" I cried as she hugged me. "I missed you!" She cried. "Katherine! You're hurting me!" I yelled as she finally let me go. "Finally! I'm free!" I yelled as I laid on my bed. Katherine laughed in response.

I sighed as I sat on my bed. "Have you seen Thomas?" I asked Katherine as she shook her head. "No but I heard he has detention this whole week. I think he left something on a book shelf in the library and it hit someone on the head." Katherine explained.

I looked at her confused. "I don't understand how he would get detention..." I said. I was confused as ever. Katherine shrugged. "Someone had told me so sorry if the story doesn't make sense. It's not my fault." I shrugged. "That's fine. Hopefully I can see him soon......"

~Time Skips~

"Hey! Thomas! Wait!" I yelled as I ran after him. Thomas turned around and smiled at me. "Hey (Name). How was Christmas?" Thomas asked. I looked at him oddly. He had bags under his eyes and his hair was just a mess.

"Thomas, you don't look so well." I said honestly. Thomas shrugged. "I'm fine." Thomas said as he smiled. I smiled back to reassure that I believed him when I didn't. Not one bit but I wanted to. "My Christmas was nice. How was yours?" I asked as Thomas and I walked side by side.

"It was nice. I've had better Christmases." Thomas said as he looked at me sympathetically. "Well I better go. I need to go to the library, check out a book, and go back to my dorm to study. So I'll see you around. Goodbye (Name)." Thomas said as he scurried off.

Wow. That boy moves fast. I sighed as I walked to down the hall, back to the Hufflepuff dorms, all alone. "Hey (Name)." Someone called. I turned to see Cedric. I smiled. "Hey Cedric. What are you doing?" I asked as we walked side by side.

"Do you want to go to Black Lake with me tomorrow?" I looked at Cedric confused. "Why do you need to go to Black Lake for?" Cedric shrugged. "I just want to explore and what's better then exploring on your own?" Cedric asked. I smiled and shrugged. When I already knew the answer. "Exploring with you!" Cedric said as enthusiastic as ever. We both looked at each before we started laughing.

"I could never imagine Cedric Diggory as enthusiastic as that!" I said as we started laughing even more. "Oh ya? I would never guess for the Great (Name) (Last Name) to ever back down from going on an adventure!" I rolled my eyes as I kept laughing. "Definitely. That would mean your stuck with me all day!"

"I know. What a pain!" Cedric said dramatically. I laughed once more. We went around a corner cause me to bump into someone, which caused our laughter to stop. "Oh!" I said as I stepped back.

I looked up to see Thomas? But I thought he went to the library? "Thomas? What are you doing here?" I asked as Thomas paled. Thomas shook his head and shrugged. "Nothing really. I was just going to the library." I looked at Thomas skeptically. "The library isn't this way...." I mumbled as Cedric looked between Thomas and I.

"We better go." I said as I grabbed Cedric's hand and dragged him around Thomas. "What was all that about?" Cedric whispered as Thomas was out of sight. I shrugged. "He's a liar." I mumbled. "We better get back to our dorms before it's curfew." I said as I let go of Cedric's hand and started walking faster to the dorms.

I was hurt. Not because I had romantic feelings for Thomas (which I don't) but because he lied to me and acted as if he didn't see or talked to me the first time. I sighed. I wonder where this will leave us, as friends.
