Her scars, his end
It's so much when they stare at your scars
The ones that creep over your shoulder and run down your arms
Left by the long blades of someone who hurt you
On the night that you fled for your life in the dew
It was early and empty and the world sung goodbyes
Leaving you open for the person who cried
Your name he was calling out louder and clearer
With each step he made, he was drawing nearer
You wanted to scream and take refuge from the pain
But this violent man already knew your name
He sung it loudly while he searched through the brush
Until the knife slicing his throat made him hush
