The silence broke at her raw cry,

Her anguish fresh against the sky.

Once more a cat she'd grown to love,

Who's spirit fit, like hand in glove

And pushed back darkness in her mind,

Had met a circumstance unkind.

A screech of brakes, his soul lock tear,

It felt the last straw she could bear.

Her sky, once blue, now faded black,

Her demons freed to fresh attack.

But left a light to show the way

His kitten sister still at play.

Back from the brink, she's traveled far,

Her little Peek-A shining star.
