Gabriel laid on his bed, a small tug in his chest leaving him awake at this time of night. He looked over and saw his phone resting on his night stand, still silent as it always was; he reached for it and dialed the first number he could think of.

"Hello?" The voice was thick and filled with a bitter end. Gabriel opened his mouth to speak but no words came out, only small cracks of breath as he felt his eyes water again. "I-Im sorry."

The line went dead.

He covered his eyes as he dropped his arm down into the bed, the phone slipping out as he rubbed the space between his brows. "What else can i say?" He croaked as he wiped his now dry eyes; this wasn't worth crying over.

He knew it wasn't going to work out, he always had a small tint of guilt ever since they first kissed. Yeah, the sparks flew, but did they fly high enough? Apparently not after all this time.

He just wished it lasted longer.
