Chapter 6: A New Perspective

I got back from my walk of shame and sat down on my bed, with Armin still in it waiting for me. My eyes were still a bit puffy from crying but I felt better.  My embarrassment has gone away and I was feeling relieved that Armin didn't leave. I wanted to make the angry eyes he gave me go away.  I decided to play a little joke on Armin to ease the tension between us, I just wanted him to feel better.

I got on my knees and grabbed his hand, which were softer than I thought. I looked at him with a straight face while he was very very confused. I put up one knee and sandwiched his hand between both of my sweaty, clammy, gross hands.  I held back a laugh and said with a straight face, as best as I could," Armin, my beautiful princess, how doth get thou hands so fair? Tis' like a newborn's ass!" I theatrically got up dragging him with me. "Oh my dear. You're so fair, like a baby seal. " I started to dance with him, but he looked so white and confused that I almost felt bad. I loosened my grip on him but still held onto him. He is a bit shorter than me so he was just above eye level. The most I could see of him was his flustered face begging me to stop.

"(Y/N)....what the hell?" Armin yanked away from my grip and eyed me like a lost cat. His face got even redder as he slipped away than when I was dancing with him.

I couldn't help but laugh...how cute! I clapped and boomed in laughter while Armin just stood there speechless at my sudden mood change. He grabbed his other hand and just held it while sulking at me.  I laughed so hard I was crying. I cleared my throat and wiped away my tears of pure idiocy and sat back down on my bed. "Don't sulk at me so much. I just wanted to have a little fun. The atmosphere in here was too "deathly"

Armin rolled his eyes and sat next to me. His face regained color but his eyes remained lifeless. "Stop changing the subject. Just fifteen minutes ago you were crying and serious, now you're avoiding it... and don't call me a princess. I'm a man!" He stood up and straightened himself out and "flexed" his muscles.

I could almost see the patriotism in him, I sighed loudly. " You're right. I'm sorry, Armin. I just wanted to make everyone feel better." My voice was now a low buzz, " I've been having some weird dreams lately and I don't know what they mean." I narrowed my eyes to the ground not wanting to discuss it any further.

Armin seemed to notice my sudden  change in mood again as  he was speechless and surprised. "Are you eating anything weird before you go to bed?" He asked me such  a dumbass question that I didn't even know to answer without laughing, but he seemed genuinely concerned.

I shook my head and smiled a bit at his weird question, " No, it's just...weird dreams....I don't know how to explain it."  Just before I could explain it any more poorly there was a sudden kick of my door. I jumped a bit at the sudden noise.

My head shot up and Armin and I simultaneously looked up to see what it was. I saw a small, almost kid-like man standing in my door way. It was Captain Levi. He looked....how he usually looks; angry and mentally setting you on fire.

" Cadet (Y/N), I have been looking for you." He came over to where me and Armin were sitting, grabbed me by my shirt collar and lifted me to his eye level, I was almost squatting.

"Wow Captain, for a five-foot-three man with a childlike physique, you sure are strong." I couldn't help but giggle at my own joke. Looking at Captain Levi now, he's not that's scary after all. He kind of reminds me of a cat. But like a mean cat that breaks things and hates people. So like Grumpy Cat. I was staring right at his black lifeless eyes and it again sent a weird shiver down my spine.

His eyes were looking up at me and and he was now squeezing harder on my shirt. " Look here you little ass-wipe, if you run your mouth one more time I will personally shove my foot down your weak and puny esophagus. I don't play too kindly with shitty brats like you."
