Siren (a Gaara love story)

Arriving at the first test

i woke up in the morning with a light smile. slowly rolling out of bed my memories came to me. last night.... Gaara and I.... the chunin exams today. i got dressed in my white short kimono, put the bow and quiver on my back, curled my hair and checked myself in the mirror. my outfit, the way i looked, this was all part of survivng for me. as long as i have siren no one can physically hurt me. i smiled and touched my lips. i remember the miracle that happened last night after Gaara and I  kissed

flash back

"what does this mean?" i asked him as i leaned up against him. his arms slowly wrapped around me and he stared up at the stars

"I don't know" he said. i sighed and traced circles on his shoulder with my thumb

"are we together now?" i asked quietly, almost fearing his answer.

"do you want to be? or are you ashamed-" i cut him off by pulling his lips down to mine

"i;ll never be ashamed of you, and i'll never be afraid of you" i whispered against his lips. i heard him sigh and then he said

"i want nothing more than to be able to call you mine" he whispered. i smiled

"then i will be yours"

end of flashback.

i walked to the kitchen and saw everyone there. i smiled at them, grabbed some toast and stood beside Gaara. he looked emptily down at me and i said

"good morning" they all mumbled something except Gaara. i nudged him "what about you?  is it a Good morning Gaara?" he looked down at me and i saw a little bit of amusement in his eyes.

"yes" he said. i smirked and we all went back to eating. when we were done i led them out the door to the building where the first test was held. as we approached it we saw Baki Sensei was waiting for us.

"before you enter the exams, i wish to know anything you know that may be useful about this village" he said to us without so much as a hello. i smirked as Kankuro, Temari and Gaara gave un-important, and non useful information on how the village runs, as in the ranks of the ninja and such. when Baki finally turned to me i smiled. he gaped a little. i forgotten that he had never seen me smile before.

"what do you know?" he asked. i gathered my thoughts and dove into my explanation

"the village of Konaha runs on love, they survive for each other. people fight for each other with no regards for them selves on the most part. Love, is the one thing that keeps this village peaceful and strong Baki Sensei" i said. i could practically see the thoughts that were going through his mind. since when did Liiran know so much about love? he was thinking. since when does she smile? i smirked and began to walk by giving his shoulder a squeeze on the way.

"wish me luck on my solo" i whispered as i walked to the building. i saw Kakashi standing by the doors watching me and i smiled at him, before turning to Gaara, grabbing his hand and earning a few gasps from my team. i smirked at the also shocked Gaara and headed into the building with him at my side. we weren't the first team in room 301. there were several teams from the sound and the rain. the moment we stepped in silence fell and all eyes were on us. their eyes travelled from the siblings to me, and soon i was the center of attention. i released Gaara's hand and turned on Siren, carefully avoiding my teams eyes. all men and all women stared at me in silence and i smiled, biting my cheeks for a blush i said in a high voice while doing a classic girly wave

"hi there!" i said. people smiled at me and i carefully led my team to a secluded corner and deactivated Siren, my hand back in Gaara's. i still felt eyes on me, but it was better now that we were in the crowd. Temari looked curiously at Gaara and I but said nothing. it was all pretty quiet until we heard some one yell
