Chapter 18: The force?

And so Ezra was in a panic racing to rescue Sabine.

He knew that he should have stayed with her. He just knew he should've. If something had happened to her-he just wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

When Ezra got out of hyperspace and saw the ship his heart sunk.

No.... Sabine no...

He'd be surprised if anyone had survived that-let alone Sabine with her stitches.

Hera quickly attacked the Ghost to the remains of the ship.

Kanan, Hera, and Zeb went looking for survivors. Ezra just had one person on his mind.

Sabine...

Meanwhile, Sabine was on the ground in her medical room. Her stitched side was bleeding, and had opened a little.

"Oh karabast" Sabine mumbled, slipping in and out of consciousness.

She tried signaling for Ezra on her comm, but it was broken.

She tried holding her hand over the wound, but it did little to stop the bleeding.

Ezra frantically searched, but it was hard with all the rubble.

"Sabine!!!" He called out, worrying.

Sabine heard Ezra's voice, but she was far too weak to reply.

She began to fade. Literally. She never felt anything like it. Even when she had *died* before...she had never felt like this.

Was this...the... force?

Sabine wasn't sure, but if it was.

Maybe she could connect with Ezra through it.

She concentrated hard. She imagined herself as one with the air.

She imagined nothing but blackness.

And then she imagined Ezra.

She quietly whispered.

"Ezra? Can you hear me?"

Ezra stopped. He had heard her...but in a different way.

He had heard her.

Through the force.

Ezra concentrated and ran toward the direction he had *heard-or more like felt* the voice.

He found Sabine laying in her room. Clutching her bleeding side.

"SABINE!" Ezra yelled, running over to her, and picking her up.

Ezra began to carry her back to the others, apologizing on how he had left her, and clutching her tightly.

That's when Sabine spoke.

"Ezra..." Sabine said, weakly.

"Yes?" Ezra asked, looking down at her.

"Did I...just use...the force?"
